Combining Award Point

Postby mlkpied » Fri Feb 05, 2010 7:51 am

I've accumulated mileage through both American and British Air which are part of the same alliance. Does anyone know if I can combine the mileage? Thanks

Your best bet is to use either AA or BA FF account when traveling regardless of which airline you travel on. There are some things to be award of however. If you travel on BA and use your AA FF account you will not receive any AA Elite Status Bonus Miles. However, if it is a flight that AA code shares with BA, having a AA--- flight number then you will earn your Elite Bonus. Just some things to watch out for. If you infrequently fly one of the airlines, let say BA, then put all your miles on AA.

Hope this helps.

Worth noting...there's an exception for earning AA miles on BA flights--AA will not give miles for US-UK flights booked on BA; you can only earn on those flights if it's a code-share booked on AA ticket.
