Ideas to promote Award Wallet?

Postby ejewett » Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:01 pm

I recently started using Award Wallet, found it to be a great resource and hope it does well to be able to continue using the service.

What are ways to get Award Wallet more visibility and customers? I posted a note about them for my Facebook status.

Seems they could get traction by promoting themselves with consulting firms where almost everyone travels 4 days/week.

Ideas?

First of all many thanks!!! This is exactly what we are trying to figure out. One way to promote the site would be as follows:

A travel agent could ask the folks who he or she books travel for to use awardwallet and to share in the "read only" mode the award program balances and numbers. Today AwardWallet provides for this capability and could be an excellent resource for travel agents to have access to all of the award program numbers of the folks for whom he or she books travel.

We welcome any other ideas!

I joined via the link on Johnny Jett email. Works great for me as I am in Saudi Arabia and most programmes are blocked including Mileport. Just wish my BA travel plans would show up. I have 3 flights booked with BA in the next 5 months (two to the UK and one to USA) and cant get any of them to come in automatically. Not to mention all the hotels (only one came in auto - Marriott) and car hires involved. I am a newbie so could be doing something wrong.

BA travel plans do not yet get auto-imported. We are working on making this feature available for all the programs that we support but it has not been implemented yet.

There have been a few threads recently on the Flyertalk.com boards regarding AwardWallet. The feedback has been very positive. I've been using AW for a few months now and its been great. Keep up the good work.

Besides the premium memberships what other plans do you guys have to try and monetize your traffic? I hope you are making some money for all of your hard work!

The money that we make today from AwardWallet does not cover development costs just yet, but we are getting there. As far as other monetizing ideas, we want to license our data mining API to companies that need to track rewards, for example as part of their financial portfolio offering. Also we want to partner up with travel agencies to offer them AwardWallet "all-inclusive" service to both manage reward accounts for their clients as well as manage their itineraries.

why is it that the link to get people to join, I realized are disposable link, in other words, as soon as someone used the link to subscribe, no one else subscribing after him using the same link, wont count....

Can I not have just 1 link that keeps on working and registering.

I don't believe that to be accurate. Anytime someone uses this link to register on AwardWallet

You will get a credit for it.

Yes, looks like this is a problem on our end. We are looking into it. Thanks for pointing this out.

FLYERTALK

I know you are already on their forum, but a more active presence (perhaps an "official" presence)... maybe do an article on BoardingArea, etc...
