Award Program Views

Postby SiteAdmin » Sat Mar 21, 2009 1:52 pm

Recently AwardWallet added a new feature, the reward programs can now be organized into Views. We left the "All" view untouched so this view still shows all of your reward programs and coupons. Here is what we did change:
1. We removed filtering based on reward type: airline, hotel, car rental, etc.
2. We added 2 new views:
a. Active Accounts - this view shows all reward programs that have a non zero balance.
b. Recently Changed - this view shows those reward programs on which your balance has changed either within a week or within a month (see drop down option at the bottom of the view).
3. We added the ability to add your own views.

If you have other ideas on how to make AwardWallet better please let us know!

Please add a column with the date of the last refresh and make coupons collapsed by default under their corresponding program.

Last update date shows up when you look at the details of the program. We want to keep it that way for now so that we don't clutter the interface. We will discuss the sorting algorithm of coupons internally. Thanks for the suggestions.

hi,

1) can we remove the rating? I don't see use to it, and especially in mobile view where we need to save on space due to small screens.

2) can you make the "comment" text area at least 10-15 characters longer?

3) is it possible to get expiry dates to work for bmi (i have about 40 attached to my account)

No, we have no plans to remove ratings from the site at the moment.

I remember your asking for this in the past. Perhaps we need to add a better way to manage users that you add to your profile, we are working on that. If we make the comment field larger we need to redesign how it shows up on the page. Just increasing the size is not an option. Can you give me examples of what kind of data do you want to store in that field?

Eventually we will; however, there are other programs for which we need to implement expiration and BMI has a lower priority at the moment.

I like using the comment section to write info I might need when calling up the airline.

It is usually the address, which have some very long ones.

now that I think of it, the expiry date refers to mileage I guess, where as I would love to have an expiry date to the status. I believe that it wont be an easy task, but people like me who have a couple of say star alliance gold cards, it is very nice for me to know which one is about to go "down", so that I can post my future flights on this one that goes down.

If I may ask, what is the point of the rating exactly? Is it meant for people to let other people know which program is better? (although there is not one answer or oppinion to it).

----------------------------------------------

I have trips that I didnt add, but rather that AW added automatically, which is pretty cool; however, lately the number of trips goes up, although when clicking on my trips, I will see the real number of trips, which is significantly lower the one posted next to my trips (on top of the page, in the menu)

So would this information always be the same for a given person or would it vary for different programs that this person belongs to? The reason why I am asking is because perhaps it needs to by tied to a connection vs a reward program.

You are correct. 99% of the time expiration refers to milage expiration. For American Airlines (the most popular program) we do calculate Elite Status expiration and if it is before milage expiration then we show the Elite status expiration in that field. It is not easy to implement though.

Sure. We want people to have knowledge about reward programs. We also want things to be transparent, and have a place where people can express their feelings / opinions about reward programs. Finally we want to be sort of an expert when it comes to reward programs.

Yeah, I believe we fixed that problem. It had to do with the fact that you have too many users added to your profile.
