Service is okay, and as long as everything goes okay then it's fine.
If there is ANY problem whatsoever then BA and their service falls to pieces. Their customer service stinks BIG TIME ! ~ this I know from experience on several occasions
Earning miles is reasonably straightforward but it seems you need more miles than you would with any other airline.

*update*
On a recent trip to South Africa, BA lost my luggage for 6 days and when it finally turned up, half my belongings had been stolen. (and this was before T5 !!!)
BA refused to pay because I had no receipts for my clothes and missing belongings.
So I now fly any other airline I can use

One of the worst award programmes I've ever seen. It rather discourages using BA. Switched to AAdvantage after BA has only credited me with 25% of the distance for a biz class ticket (because they sold it at a discounted rate of GBP 3,500 vs. regular fare of GBP 3,667).

flight attendents ok, gate staff very indifferent. I find that there usually is no boarding call, just the gate staff opening the door and assuming people are going to start boarding the plane, then sitting on the plane, being told every fifteen minutes that it'll be another 15 minutes before takeoff, for THREE hours, then getting bused to another plane on the other side of the airport. Flight attendants were eh. The employees at the BA counter at the airport were rude to me when he tried to find out why the plane was late. Maybe I should give them a chance?
