Continental is the most generous program and I have personally been treated as a valued customer for my loyalty. The elite benefits are also generous and their flight inventory for awards shows a lot more availability on Continental or its partners at lower mileage levels. I have noticed that when trying to book on the United site for the same flights it may require more miles. The merger may affect all of the above related generosity but if you are an elite you are treated special. I have tried to book awards on Delta, American and US Air and oftentimes it requires twice as many miles or more. Stick with CO / UA and you will be pleasantly rewarded.

from all US airlines is the best by all means in their miles program. Unfortunately the merger with United will make the program to go away.

If my understanding is right, Continental's OnePass members will soon see their miles transformed from "miles that never expire" to "miles that expire after one year."

"One year and they're gone" is the way United's mileage program works. Once Continental merges its program into United's, that's what will happen to our miles: They'll only be good for a year.

I'm sure the transition will be done smoothly and tactfully, but that's what we'll be in for.

After years -- decades -- of sticking with Continental, I'm looking for a more generous program to shift to.

I find the system and options very confusing. I do not understand the different tiers and it is the most confusing reward program out there. However it is easy to collect airmiles.

Great airline reward program!

Really restrictive flights available when using miles.

One thing I like is that their miles do not expire, or at list this is what their website states:

Miles currently have no expiry date; however, Continental Airlines reserves the right to impose expiry limits or terminate the OnePass program, thus terminating your ability to claim rewards.

While every airline can have issues, of all the ones I have flown -and I fly a lot- Continental is, by far, the best legacy carrier. Staff is generally helpful. The planes are much newer than most of the big carriers. I also appreciate the complimentary drinks and WiFi at Presidents Clubs.

I have had great success in getting award seats with OnePass. I was able to get an around the world first class ticket in summer using Continental and its partners. They also are the most generous-by far- with upgrades for elites.

Continental is great for redeeming miles because you have the option to get seats for more mileage even if regular awards are unavailable.

But I can't tell you how many times I signed up for an advertised partner program, only to get a letter in the mail saying I didn't qualify because of some technicality.

Good points program. At most terminals serving Continental - Great Presidents Clubs... lots of upgrades for Elite Card holders (generally, when available), online service is 'snappy'.

never had a problem earning miles with conti, and they work with you when using them as well, and I like the online use feature, it is pretty handy. Also so many good partners to choose from, and first class upgrades are very common for elite passengers, even just silver elites
