Jess Farley

Compliance Guru

Jess is a long-time member of the AwardWallet family, having joined the team in early 2016. Hailing from the lush surrounds of New Zealand’s South Island, Jess discovered travel early courtesy of his Mum’s career as a luxury travel journalist. A relative latecomer to points and miles, he studied frequent flyer programs in-depth to reduce costs while traveling full-time with his wife and young son.

Interested in adventure and experience-based travel, he primarily uses points and miles to transport his wife and kids between family in New Zealand, his home in Australia, and whatever perilous quest he can dream up in Asia. His favorite travel experiences include traveling through the highlands of Tibet and dragging his then 6-year-old son to stay at Everest Basecamp, and an extended winter stay in a cabin in the mountains of Nagano, Japan.

When he’s not banging pen and paper together for AwardWallet, you’ll find Jess nerding out on Forex charts, running trails, competing in Ironman, cooking up a storm, doing yoga, or traveling with his young family. Jess is currently based in tropical Far North Queensland, Australia.

Marriott Bonvoy Hotel + Air Travel Packages No Longer Offering Top Value

Marriott has released details of its new Travel Packages and, unfortunately, the news isn’t good. Where Marriott has been relatively generous in its approach to the merger of SPG and Marriott Rewards, taking onboard and acting on the concerns of elite members from both programs. When it comes to the popular Travel Packages they have quite literally taken a hatchet to the value in this program.
