Amex has brought back a great promotion from last year just in time for the holidays. Amex cardholders can once again get a free subscription to get coffee and tea at Panera Bread. You can claim a 4-month free Panera Unlimited Sip Club subscription when enrolling with your Amex card.
If you live near one of Panera Bread's 2,000+ locations, this is a nice offer to take advantage of. The primary limitation is that you must not be a current Unlimited Sip Club subscriber.
Free Panera Bread “Unlimited Sip Club” Subscription
This year, the Unlimited Sip Club subscription replaced the MyPanera+ Coffee subscription. The monthly fee also increased from $8.99 to $11.99 per month plus tax.
With this change, Panera expanded the range of drinks included in the subscription. MyPanera+ Coffee only allowed you to claim a free hot tea, or hot or cold coffee every two hours. The Unlimited Sip Club subscription expands the choices to a hot coffee, iced coffee, hot tea, iced tea, fountain beverage, or Charged Lemonade every two hours, plus unlimited refills while you're in the cafe.
If you are an Amex cardholder, you can claim a free four-month subscription before December 31, 2022. With the Unlimited Sip Club subscription, you are entitled to a free coffee or tea every two hours — plus unlimited refills while in the cafe.
Note that the offer states you must not be a current Unlimited Sip Club subscriber at the time of redeeming the offer. It can be assumed that you could cancel an active subscription, and then sign up again with this offer to get the four free months.

Terms and Conditions of this Free Panera Bread Offer
- Available to U.S. residents only.
- You must be a new MyPanera+ Coffee subscriber and at least 18 years old.
- You must click through this webpage from a U.S. IP address and verify eligibility by logging in to your American Express Card Account
- After your free four-month trial ends, your card will be charged $11.99 each month plus tax — or the then-current rate. Note that members have mentioned that refunds are hard to get if you don't cancel in time.
- One subscription per person — regardless of how many Amex cards you have.
- Excludes orders placed through third-party booking sites.
What's Included in Unlimited Sip Club
- Through the subscription, you are eligible for any size of hot coffee, iced coffee, hot tea, iced tea, fountain soda beverage, bubbler drinks (regular, sweet, and Passion Papaya green iced teas, and Agave Lemonade), and Charged Lemonade beverages (Fuji Apple Cranberry, Mango Citrus Yuzu, and Strawberry Lemon Mint) once every two hours plus unlimited refills while in the cafe.
- Excludes bottled beverages, smoothies, frozen blended drinks, cold brew iced coffee, and espresso and cappuccino beverages.
- Customizations such as added espresso and added syrups (Madagascar vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, cinnamon, and caramel) are not included. Upcharges would apply for these.
- Other additions such as milk, skim milk, almond milk, half & half, and sweeteners are included.
- Available only at participating Panera Bread cafes.
Our Take
Panera Bread has over 2,000 locations spread across all continental U.S. states, Washington DC, and Ontario. If you have one (or more) around where you live, this is a great promotion to take advantage of.
Perhaps going out of your way just for a coffee or tea isn't worth the subscription. But, if you're a regular at Panera Bread — as I used to be in Pasadena, California — then, by all means, claim your Panera Bread Unlimited Sip Club membership to get free drinks for 4 months!

So is it an Amex offer in the traditional sense that we get charged by Panera and then Amex gives a credit?
Not in this case. You just get the membership outright after entering your card details. More like the partnership Amex had with Calm.
Some Panera locations are better than others when ordering Coffee but overall I’ve had good experiences with Panera’s coffee subscription.
A free coffee or tea every two hours for $8.99/ mo?! Seems like a killer deal and unsustainable.

This. W/o a tasty bite tossed in, I don’t work/live/travel near a Panera often enough to make this offer meaningful.
I tend to frequent Starbucks or local cafes. I find I prefer local coffee and the food they serve. I haven’t found Panera to be too tempting to go away from SB or local cafe.

It’d be nice if they threw in a free bagel once a week or so too….coffee / tea on its own doesn’t seem to be worth the trouble….

They just put a cup out for you to make your coffee which is annoying but free is free.
