Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Iberia Plus both recently launched double Avios promotions. Members can earn double Avios when flying with the opposite airline now through November 30, 2022.
Double Avios Promotion
Both Qatar Airways and Iberia sent out new promotions recently. In short, both Privilege Club and Iberia Plus members may be able to earn double Avios on flights between September 1 and November 30, 2022. However, the Iberia promotion is only valid for members that received an email about the promotion. So, check your email.
In both cases, bonus Avios will be issued on your base Avios. Elite status or other bonus earnings won't be doubled.

Note that the Avios earning rate varies between airline mileage programs. Iberia Plus members earn 0.25 to 1 Avios per mile on Qatar economy, 1.5 Avios per mile on limited business, and 2.5 Avios per mile on flexible business tickets. With Qatar Airways, you'll need to consult the QCalculator to find out how many Avios you will earn.
You will also earn Qatar QMiles when flying on Iberia and Iberia Elite Points when flying with Qatar Airways. However, these earnings aren't doubled.
Our Take
This is an interesting promotion. Rather than earning double Avios in the airline's own rewards program, you'll earn double Avios for flying with their partner. Remember that you can freely transfer Avios between Iberia and Qatar (as well as British Airways and Aer Lingus). So, you can take advantage of this double Avios promotion and still consolidate Avios in whichever account you prefer.
Qatar Airways owns 25.2% of IAG (International Airlines Group) — which includes British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, and Level. We can only assume there's some behind-the-scenes plan to boost sales in partner airlines while collecting extra Avios.
Whatever the reason, this promotion is a good way to boost your Avios in whichever rewards program you're in. I only wish I had seen this before I had already purchased my tickets to Argentina for next month.
