If you feel like opportunities to status match from one program to another are popping up left and right lately, you aren't wrong. In the latest offering, you can status match your Marriott Bonvoy elite status to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer — or match in the opposite direction if you have KrisFlyer status. Here's the latest status match offer, providing Singapore KrisFlyer status for a year and an opportunity to bump it up to another tier.
How Marriott Elite Status Matches to Singapore KrisFlyer Status
Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite and higher members get either an elite status match or status challenge to Singapore KrisFlyer, depending on your current Marriott and Singapore elite status levels.
If you have Marriott Gold Elite status…
Marriott Gold Elites can earn KrisFlyer Silver by taking two Singapore Airlines flights within six months. That means those with The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express can score Singapore Airlines Silver Elite status with just two flights in the next six months. Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.

Unfortunately, these travelers have no path to KrisFlyer Gold or higher elite status. So, you may want to wait to link your accounts until…
If you have Marriott Platinum Elite status or higher…
Marriott Platinum Elite status or higher elites will get Singapore KrisFlyer Silver Elite status for 12 months upon linking your Marriott and Singapore accounts. Plus, you gain the ability to earn Singapore KrisFlyer Gold elite status by linking your Marriott and Singapore accounts and taking four Singapore Airlines flights within six months.

Perhaps most importantly, KrisFlyer Gold elite status gets you Star Alliance Gold status. Star Gold status scores you priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling, plus extra checked baggage allowance and even lounge access anytime you fly any Star Alliance member — including United and Air Canada. That's true even if you're flying on a wholly domestic flight.
To recap:

How To Match Your Marriott Elite Status to Singapore KrisFlyer
To start your status match, head to the landing page here. Fill out your Marriott Bonvoy number or email and then include your password.
If you get an error message saying your user name or password is wrong, but you're certain it's right, the issue might be your location. I'm outside the U.S. right now and received an error message. Turning on my VPN and setting it to a U.S. location did the trick.
After entering your information, the site will detect your Marriott status and ask for your KrisFlyer number. As long as the names match, the process is quick and simple.
The full terms are available here, including descriptions of the qualifying flights to jump to KrisFlyer Elite Gold status. Other than G fare codes (group bookings), all other fare types are eligible for the flights required within six months.
How To Match Your Singapore KrisFlyer Elite Status to Marriott Bonvoy
Travelers with Singapore KrisFlyer elite status can match their KrisFlyer or PPS Club status to Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. Head to KrisFlyer.com/Marriott and log into your KrisFlyer account. From there, scroll down to the “Add Partner” section and choose “Non-Airline Partner.” Choose Marriott Bonvoy from the list and include your Marriott Bonvoy membership number.

Bottom Line

Title: Frustrating Experience with KrisFlyer Elite Silver Status Match
I want to share my ongoing struggle with obtaining my KrisFlyer Elite Silver status through the Marriott Bonvoy partnership program, which has turned into a frustrating ordeal over the last few weeks.
#### Background
I am a loyal customer and a Titanium Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy. On January 9, 2025, I linked my Marriott Bonvoy account with my KrisFlyer account to take advantage of the Preferred Partnership Program, which allows eligible Marriott members to receive a complimentary status match to KrisFlyer Elite Silver status.
#### The Struggle
1. **Lack of Response**: I waited over **20 days** for a response regarding my status match request, only to receive repeated generic responses that did not address my specific situation.
2. **Ineligibility Notification**: Eventually, Singapore Airlines informed me that I was ineligible for the status match because I had previously attained KrisFlyer Elite Silver status last year via the same program. They stated that this status can only be granted once in a lifetime.
3. **Marriott Bonvoy’s Role**: I contacted Marriott Bonvoy multiple times for assistance. They acknowledged my concerns but reiterated that the final decision lies with Singapore Airlines. This left me feeling like I was stuck in a loop of communication without any real resolution.
4. **Cultural Frustration**: In my latest correspondence with Marriott Bonvoy, I expressed my disappointment and wondered if my status as an Indian customer influenced the denial of my benefits. I highlighted how I followed all procedures and yet was left without a satisfactory outcome.
#### Conclusion
After nearly a month of communication, I still do not have my KrisFlyer Elite Silver status. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I feel that both companies need to improve their customer service and communication regarding such matters.
If anyone has faced similar issues or has advice on how to escalate this further, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you for reading!
Are the two and four flights on SQ mentioned as qualifying events required to be round trip flights?
Funda, here are the only parts of the terms that discuss the flights. My understanding is “no” for round-trip. Whether this includes a “booking” or “segments” (ex: would a ticket from Bangkok through Singapore to Hong Kong be 1 flight or 2?) as flights isn’t clear:
Subject to clause 2 to 5 of this Part B, Marriott Bonvoy Gold Members who are also KrisFlyer Members participating in the Preferred Partnership Program shall be eligible to receive KrisFlyer Elite Silver status after completing two (2) Singapore Airlines commercial flights in any booking class except booking class codes G ‘Group fares’ (each such flight, a “Qualifying Flight”) within six (6) months following the date of registration for the Preferred Partnership Program (“KrisFlyer Elite Silver Accelerator Challenge”) For purposes of these Preferred Partnership Rules, award tickets and codeshare flights are not considered to be Qualifying Flights.
