Which Aeromexico routes can I book with Flying Club miles?

Aeromexico's route map is expansive, and there don't appear to be any limitations on the routes you can book. Intra-Mexico, international, Europe, Argentina, and more — it's all bookable with Flying Club miles in business and economy class.

For example, here's a route from New York City through Mexico City to Cancun for 18,500 points in economy or 50,500 in business.

The availability that we see is also excellent. On most days, Aeromexico awards to and from its many destinations show availability in both classes.

And like most other carriers, business-class flights are a touch harder to come by, as is the availability on some of the carrier's longest routes, such as Mexico City (MEX) to Tokyo-Narita (NRT) or Amsterdam (AMS). However, Aeromexico flights do show on Virgin Atlantic's page on Seats.aero, so it is possible to filter and find availability on these flights. It might just take some digging and some patience.

Booking Aeromexico flights with Flying Club miles can sometimes be worthwhile

Even though the ability to book Aeromexico flights with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles isn't new, there hasn't been much coverage, given that all bookings needed to be made over the phone — until yesterday. But that doesn't mean there isn't value to booking Aeromexico flights through Flying Club.

You'll get the most out of your Flying Club miles when you book nonstop flights simply because of Virgin's per-segment pricing. So, if you need to go to Mexico City — Aeromexico's hub — you'll generally get the best pricing booking a nonstop to MEX or NLU (from just about anywhere).

Flights to Mexico City can be expensive. Favorable award pricing means you'll be able to get there for less than if you were to pay in cash.

There's also compelling value to booking long-haul Aeromexico flights with Flying Club points. The carrier can take you to Tokyo, Amsterdam, Paris, and elsewhere. Nonstops from Mexico City are competitively priced, especially compared to what other airlines charge for awards to these places (looking at you, Delta SkyMiles).
