  • I just got a targeted IHG email for 80% back in points when purchasing.

  • ROBERT CORRAO says:

This offer would make sense if we were rewarded with IHG points. But discounts on gas are common and not worth opening account for. I wish they would consider that. Rob

  • Karen Klein says:

I love the idea of getting savings. I always get mine through Kroger though, so this wouldn’t really be good just now for me. Though, like you said, when you’re traveling it’s worth it. I might do it just so I can save while I am traveling and those rental cars want you to fill up before returning the car. It’s just savings right? We don’t get any IHG points for it?

  • Why does it have to be shell…I wish it was Chevron or Valero.
    Nevertheless, thanks for the post!

  • Nice partnership. I hope we see other fuel partnerships like this pop up this year.

  • Takhliq Khan says:

In our area (Northern Virginia), i have found Shell to be way more expensive than other gas stations. So not really worth it.

  • Really bummed there a zero Shell stations within 50 miles of my ZIP…great deal for those that can use it though.

    • Hi Thomas,
You are not missing out much… If your shell station pricing is like the norcal area it is not worth it. typically 10-20 cents higher at Shell compared to others.

  • there is a promotion until June with fuel rewards rewarding 10 cents per gallon with at least 8 gallons purchased. this is cumulative and a good offer, especially if you just buy 8 gallons at a time.

  • Thanks for this great announcement! I see more and more advantages of beginning my day with cup of coffee reading your blog!!!
