Unfortunately, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/capital-one-rewards\/guest-lounge-access-changes\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Capital One Venture X authorized user lounge access has changed significantly<\/a> since that date.<\/p>\n<p>There is now an annual fee of $125 per authorized user card to add lounge access. Put another way, while adding an authorized user remains free, lounge access is no longer automatically included.<\/p>\n<p>To make matters worse, Capital One also eliminated complimentary lounge access for guests. This applies to both the primary cardholder and authorized users. Moving forward, if you want to bring guests with you, there will be a fee per person per visit. The pricing is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$45 for Capital One lounges for guests 18+<\/li>\n<li>$25 for Capital One lounges for children 2-17 (Children under two are free)<\/li>\n<li>$35 for participating Priority Pass\u2122 lounges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note that this policy only applies to the personal Capital One Venture X. <a data-ccid=\"5048345\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/capital-one-rewards\/venture-x-business\/\">Capital One Venture X Business<\/a> primary cardholders can still bring two guests for free into participating Priority Pass\u2122 lounges. Furthermore, the authorized user lounge access fee on the Venture X Business card includes two guests, whereas the personal card does not.<\/p>\n<h4>Authorized user lounge access<\/h4>\n<p>Assuming you've paid the $125 for authorized user lounge access, there are two things you need to know.<\/p>\n<p>First,\u00a0Capital One Lounges can be easily accessed by showing your Capital One Venture X card and your same-day boarding pass. If you're unfamiliar with Capital One lounges and locations, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/capital-one-rewards\/capital-one-airport-lounges\/\" rel=\"noopener\">check out our dedicated post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Second, you can access Priority Pass lounges by <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/capital-one-rewards\/venture-x-priority-pass\/\" rel=\"noopener\">using your authorized user card to sign up for a Priority Pass membership<\/a>. Priority Pass is a network of 1,300+ lounges around the world. Once you've signed up, show your Priority Pass card (or digital card on the Priority Pass app) and your same-day boarding pass.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Hertz_President8217s_Circle_elite_status\">Hertz President's Circle elite status<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Currently, authorized users will also gain the highest elite status with Hertz, known as President's Circle. President's Circle benefits include guaranteed upgrades, access to the President's Circle section of the car lot, 50% bonus points on rentals, and more. To enroll in this benefit, the primary cardholder will need to go to their online profile, then &#8220;View Rewards,&#8221; then &#8220;Benefits,&#8221; then &#8220;Hertz President's Circle.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that you can book your car through <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/capitalonetravel.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Capital One Travel<\/a> to earn 10X Capital One miles on rental car reservations.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Travel_and_purchase_protections\">Travel and purchase protections<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Authorized users can also access many travel protections and insurance. Just use your card to pay for your car, flight, purchase, etc for these protections to take effect. These benefits are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/rental-car-liability-insurance\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Primary rental car coverage<\/strong><\/a>: Decline the rental company's damage waiver and get up to $75,000 in coverage for loss and damage.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/trip-cancellation-insurance\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Trip cancellation and interruption insurance<\/strong><\/a>: Up to $2,000 per person if your flight is canceled or disrupted, or if you're unable to fly due to illness or bodily harm.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/trip-delay-insurance\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Trip delay reimbursement<\/strong><\/a>: Up to $500 per person to cover things like hotels and food if your flight is delayed by more than six hours or overnight.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/baggage-loss-insurance\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lost luggage protection<\/strong><\/a>: Up to $3,000 in reimbursements if the airline loses or damages your bags.<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/best-credit-cards-with-cell-phone-protection\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cell phone coverage<\/strong><\/a>: Two claims of up to $800 each in a 12-month period if your phone is lost, damaged, or stolen. You will pay a $50 deductible per claim.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purchase protection and extended warranty<\/strong>: 90 days of coverage if your item is lost, damaged, or stolen.
