However, those &#8220;starting at&#8221; rates are more of a guideline than a guarantee.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/american-aadvantage\/dynamic-pricing\/\" rel=\"noopener\">American Airlines uses dynamic pricing<\/a>, so award costs can swing dramatically based on factors like route popularity and travel dates. During peak times like spring break or major holidays, it's not unusual to see domestic awards spike well above the &#8220;starting at&#8221; rate. For example, if award space into Munich is limited, you might find lower-priced options into nearby cities like Frankfurt \u2014 which you can click through to view current pricing and continue to booking.<\/p>\n<p>Just keep in mind the map doesn\u2019t always reflect real-time availability, so prices can change once you run a full search. Still, it\u2019s a quick way to spot potential deals and alternative routes.
