With Alaska Airlines revamp of its loyalty program this month, Alaska also updated its points expiration policy in the process. So, if you are wondering whether Alaska Mileage Plan miles — or technically “Alaska Atmos Rewards Points” — expire, here is all you need to know.<\/p>\n

Do Alaska Miles Expire?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Alaska Atmos Rewards points do not expire as long as your account remains open. The full “Account and points expiration” section of Alaska Atmos Rewards points terms and conditions<\/a> reads:<\/p>\n

\u201cAtmos Rewards points do not have an expiration date and may remain in an account indefinitely, provided that the Atmos Rewards program has not been terminated pursuant to these conditions of membership.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This new policy is excellent news and clarifies the previous Alaska miles expiration policy — which had some vague terms regarding the need for your account to remain active to avoid expiration. Your new Alaska Atmos Rewards points will not expire… unless Alaska decides to shut down its program, which is highly unlikely.<\/p>\n
