And the <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/CR-DeltaReserveCreditCardfromAmericanExpress\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">Delta Reserve<\/a> does not fall short in this regard.<\/p>\n<p>The card is an ideal fit for those who fly regularly with Delta \u2014 more than just a few times per year. You'll need to take a good number of trips to make the most of your perks. Let's walk through each benefit to see the value it provides.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Delta_SkyClub_access\">Delta SkyClub access<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/delta-skymiles\/delta-sky-club-access\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Delta Sky Club access<\/a> is the flagship benefit of the <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/CR-DeltaReserveCreditCardfromAmericanExpress\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">Delta Reserve<\/a>. Currently, Delta Reserve Card Members receive 15 visits per year &#8212; you just need to be flying Delta on a same-day ticket to get in.<\/p>\n<p>Access is only for the cardholder, but as an additional benefit, Card Members receive four one-time Sky Club guest passes each year. You can share these with family or friends so they can enjoy the lounge as well.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"SkyClub_access_policies\">SkyClub access policies<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Unfortunately, Delta recently devalued the lounge access that <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/CR-DeltaReserveCreditCardfromAmericanExpress\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">Delta Reserve<\/a> Card Members receive, which explains the cap. As of <strong>February 1, 2025,<\/strong>\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/delta-skymiles\/elite-status-changes-2024\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Card Members only receive a maximum of 15 visits per year to the Delta Sky Club<\/a>. This is a major downgrade from the previous unlimited access.<\/p>\n<p>If Sky Club access is the only reason you'd want the Delta Reserve, you're effectively paying ~$37 per visit ($650 annual fee divided by 15 visits). This is cheaper than paying $695 for a full individual Sky Club membership. However, the upside of an individual membership is that it allows unlimited visits.<\/p>\n<p>If you want unlimited Sky Club access, there's a path for a Delta Reserve Card Members. The access requirements between the two vary slightly.<\/p>\n<p>To access Escape Lounges within the U.S., all you need to do is present a same-day boarding pass for a Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight and your Delta Reserve Card. Only the Card Member will receive complimentary access. If you have any guests, the posted lounge fee applies. There's no discounted rate for being a Card Member.<\/p>\n<p>Things are slightly different with <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/centurion-lounge-locations\/\" rel=\"noopener\">American Express Centurion Lounges<\/a>. Like with Delta Sky Club and Escape Lounge access, you must still be flying a same-day Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight to have access. However, you also must book your flight using an eligible U.S.-issued American Express card, which includes the Delta Reserve.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Checked_bag_and_priority_boarding_benefits\">Checked bag and priority boarding benefits<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you regularly check luggage, the free first checked bag benefit can save you a bunch of money. At <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/delta-skymiles\/delta-baggage-fees\/\" rel=\"noopener\">$35 for your first bag per direction<\/a>, this represents savings of $70 per person per round-trip. If you're open to having more than one premium Delta credit card, you can amass a lot of MQDs (a maximum of $2,500 per card for up to four card types).<\/p>\n<p>Remember that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/delta-skymiles\/elite-status-changes\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Delta increased the MQD requirements in 2024<\/a>. So, the MQD Headstart may not get you as far as you'd like. The credit is provided as a $10 statement credit \u2014 which nets you up to $120 back each year.<\/p>\n<p>You have to enroll your card to receive this benefit. The current list of providers includes Uber, Lyft, Curb, Revel, and Alto. If you already use rideshare routinely, this is a nice perk to help you recoup some of the annual fee.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, cardholders have the ability to get up to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/amex-resy-credit\/\" rel=\"noopener\">$240 per year when dining at U.S. Resy restaurants<\/a>. You can get up to $20 per month when you pay for your dinner using your Delta Reserve Card. Enrollment is required to activate this perk, and you must add your card to your Resy account.<\/p>\n<p><em>Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Uber One benefits<\/h4>\n<p>If Uber is your preferred rideshare provider, or you value the convenience of ordering through Uber Eats, you can use your card to pay for an auto-renewing monthly Uber One membership and receive a statement credit for the charge.<\/p>\n<p>Cardholders will <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/delta-skymiles\/uber-one-credits\/\" rel=\"noopener\">get up to 12 monthly statement credits<\/a> of up to $9.99 each for 12 consecutive months, but you\u2019ll need to start paying for your membership by <strong>June 25, 2026<\/strong>, to qualify.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Trusted_Traveler_Program_fee_credit\">Trusted Traveler Program fee credit<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Use your <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/CR-DeltaReserveCreditCardfromAmericanExpress\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">Delta Reserve<\/a> to pay for either Global Entry ($120) or TSA PreCheck (up to $85) when you apply for the program and receive a statement credit that offsets the application fee. There's a limit of two approved claims per 12-month period, and each approved claim is subject to a $50 deductible. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make sure you consult the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.americanexpress.com\/us\/credit-cards\/features-benefits\/policies\/\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">feature and benefits<\/a> page of Amex\u2019s website for policy particulars and exclusions for each benefit.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Delta_Reserve_Earning_Rates\">Delta Reserve Earning Rates<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <a data-ccid=\"4048149\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/CR-DeltaReserveCreditCardfromAmericanExpress\" rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">Delta Reserve<\/a> Card earning rates are limited and uninspiring. Unlike the Delta Gold Card and Delta Platinum Amex cards, only Delta purchases receive any sort of bonus. You earn miles with the Delta Reserve Card as follows:<\/p>\n<ul><li>3X miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta<\/li>\r\n \t<li>1X miles on every eligible dollar spent on purchases.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p>You can do far better with many other cards. Unfortunately, Delta has tied some of its key benefits of the Delta Reserve to card spending. But make sure you consider other options before blindly spending on your card!<\/p>\n<p>As a quick example, if you put $75,000 on a <a data-ccid=\"3002009\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-double-cash-card\/\">Citi Double Cash<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a> (<a data-ccid=\"3002009\" href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/click?id=a3pDkecFgAg&offerid=951783.4206&type=3&subid=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rates & Fees<\/a>), you'll earn $1,500 in cash back (after you pay your credit card balance). Cash back may not seem that snazzy, but this is enough to purchase a Delta Sky Club Executive Membership. You aren't restricted just to Delta flights &#8212; the airline is part of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/airline-alliances-and-partnerships\/\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">SkyTeam alliance<\/a>. This opens up award seats on Air France, Aeromexico, KLM, Korean Air, and more. Partner flights remain a solid way to get decent value out of your miles.<\/p>\n<p>However, one huge bummer is that Delta no longer publishes an award chart. A favorite redemption of mine is paying as little as 5,500 miles (or less, thanks to the TakeOff 15 benefit) for a Main Cabin booking within the continental U.S. I also like snagging seats during an international <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/delta-skymiles\/delta-flash-sale\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Delta award sale<\/a> &#8212; even better if it's in a premium cabin.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, Delta tends to have inflated prices for its Delta One business class. Average award prices can be upwards of 400,000 miles to Oceania or China. However, there's value to be found when paying fewer than 40,000 SkyMiles in business class to northern South America.
