One of the annoying things about this promotion is the price per mile is not entirely clear. Of course, it's always a good deal if you can buy miles at a low price and then redeem them at a higher value. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/avianca-lifemiles\/avianca-lifemiles-sweet-spots\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Check out some of our LifeMiles sweet spots<\/a> to get some ideas of how you can take advantage of this promotion for a trip you might want to take.<\/p>\n<p>It's worth pointing out that this definitely <em>could<\/em> be a solid deal depending on which category you can take advantage of and the number of miles you end up acquiring. For example, the most recent offer to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/avianca-lifemiles\/buy-lifemiles\/\" rel=\"noopener\">buy Avianca LifeMiles<\/a> with a bonus had a cost of 1.29\u00a2 per mile \u2014 which is in the ballpark of the above ranges.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind too, that the bonus applies to the regular LifeMiles purchase rate of 3.3\u00a2 each. When you look at it that way, you could be saving up to 62% off the normal value in certain situations.<\/p>\n<p>So if you're just a smidge short of LifeMiles for an upcoming award redemption, this can certainly be a good deal. If you were considering paying cash for a ticket and the cost of acquiring LifeMiles through this promotion is cheaper, then it definitely makes sense to spend less money buying the miles than paying the normal cash rate.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Bottom_Line\">Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A &#8220;Multiply your Miles&#8221; promotion is something we've seen with other programs before. Take Air France and KLM's joint loyalty program Flying Blue, for example: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/flying-blue\/multiply-your-miles\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Flying Blue has offered a similar promotion to multiply miles<\/a> several times.<\/p>\n<p>As with any promotion, it all boils down to the rate you're getting and the plan you have in mind for using the points or miles.
