These can be used at U.S. Disney parks, Disney Cruise Line, AMC theaters (for Disney films), ShopDisney.com, and even for flights.<br \/>\nBut in practice, I found the rewards underwhelming. The card earns:<\/p>\n<ul>\r\n<li>5% on card purchases made directly at DisneyPlus.com, Hulu.com or ESPNPlus.com<\/li>\r\n<li>2% on card purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants, and most other Disney U.S. locations<\/li>\r\n<li>1% on all your other card purchases<\/li>\r\n<li>*Rewards are issued as Disney Rewards Dollars<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\n<p>With other cards in my wallet earning 3\u20135x points in many of those same categories \u2014 and offering far more valuable rewards \u2014 the Disney card just wasn\u2019t pulling its weight. Yet it really had nothing to do with those discounts. I just wanted to keep the exclusive park photo ops benefit.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"My_Favorite_Disney_Card_Benefit_Exclusive_Disney_Park_Photo_Ops\">My Favorite Disney Card Benefit: Exclusive Disney Park Photo Ops<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At Disney parks, character meet-and-greets often require expensive meals or long waits at after-hours events. But as a Disney cardholder, you can skip the crowds and get free, professional photo ops at four park locations: EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Disneyland, and California Adventure.<\/p>\n<p>Just show your physical or digital Disney Visa Card to a cast member and get in line. That includes the same discounts and exclusive photo ops.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll simply need a Chase checking account to request one. You might even be able to earn a new checking account bonus by opening a new one. Once your account is open, just send a secure message to request the Disney debit card design you want.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Other_Disney_Card_Perks_Promotions\"><strong>Other Disney Card Perks & Promotions<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Disney credit cards don\u2019t come with dazzling points multipliers. But they do occasionally surprise me.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Targeted 5% back on groceries:<\/strong> Twice this year, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/credit-cards\/chase-cardholder-promotions\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Chase targeted me to earn 5% back on groceries<\/a> on my Disney Visa Card. We don't have another card offering 5x on groceries, so we happily purchased groceries on the card during those promos.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Discounts on Disney resorts:<\/strong> Disney often offers cardholders up to 35% off select resorts, though availability is limited. I don\u2019t use these because I <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/disney-world-hotels\/\" rel=\"noopener\">book Disney lodging with points<\/a>. I\u2019d go straight for the free Disney debit card to get the perks that matter most \u2014 especially the exclusive photo ops \u2014 without using up a valuable <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/chase-5-24-rule\/\" rel=\"noopener\">5\/24 spot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While I\u2019ve appreciated the occasional targeted offer and still enjoy the character meet-and-greets, the earning structure just doesn\u2019t compete with the top rewards cards available today.<\/p>\n<p>That said, if you\u2019re a Disney fan who isn\u2019t chasing lots of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/best-credit-card-offers\/\" rel=\"noopener\">new credit card bonuses<\/a>, one of the Disney cards might be worth adding to your wallet \u2014 especially if you can take advantage of the photo ops, discounts, or occasional promos.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Bottom_Line\">Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re a Disney fan who regularly visits the parks, books Disney resorts with cash, or just wants fun perks like exclusive character photos, a Disney credit card (or even the Disney debit card) could be a great fit. These cards aren't the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/best-everyday-credit-card\/\" rel=\"noopener\">most rewarding cards for everyday spending<\/a>, but the park perks and discounts might be worth it for loyal fans.<\/p>\n<p>If you're deep into the points and miles world and are working toward more lucrative travel rewards, you'll likely find better value with other cards &#8212; especially given the limitations of Chase's 5\/24 rule.
