If you've got conditional approval for Global Entry but can't secure an interview slot, Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is here to the rescue. You can now complete an interview for Global Entry before departing Washington Dulles on an international flight.<\/p>\n

Here's the lowdown on Washington Dulles' new Global Entry enrollment option.<\/p>\n

Enroll for Global Entry Before Departure at IAD<\/span><\/h2>\n

It's easy to apply<\/strong><\/em> for Global Entry; just go here<\/a>. Completing an application requires only a few minutes of your time. All it takes is entering some personal details into an online form. Even better, if you carry a credit card that offers a Global Entry fee waiver, you can get the $100 application fee back<\/a>. Five years of validity for free? Yes, please.<\/p>\n

And applying is worth it. You can save a lot of time by skipping the general U.S. Customs line. It only takes being stuck at the back of one slow-moving line before you quickly realize that Global Entry really is worth it.<\/p>\n

But what's not easy about the Global Entry enrollment process is what comes after<\/strong><\/em> you apply. You'll receive an email a few months after submitting your form indicating “conditional approval,” but you're not done yet. What gives?<\/p>\n

You've still got to complete an in-person interview with a Customs and Border Patrol agent. Unfortunately, these appointments are hard to come by, and scheduling one takes time and patience to find a slot that works for you.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the process has gotten easier. CBP has introduced concepts like Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival (EoA), offering interviews to conditionally approved applicants after arrival from a trip abroad \u2014 no appointment required. And during the height of COVID-19 restrictions, the agency even introduced virtual interviews. However, that hasn't really improved the difficulty of finding an available appointment for those who are conditionally approved.<\/p>\n

Washington Dulles Enrollment on Departure<\/span><\/h3>\n

Now, there's a new option \u2014 specifically at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). It's dubbed “Enrollment on Departure (EoD)<\/a>.” For those conditionally approved for Global Entry and flying out of Dulles on an international flight, you can pay a visit to the CBP office at gate B41 to complete your interview. The office is open from 12 p.m to 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
