IHG is running a promo that will effectively let you buy points for 0.46 cents apiece. The previous similar promotion was open to Platinum members<\/a>; however, this one is only open to holders of the IHG\u00ae<\/sup> Rewards Club Select Credit Card<\/a>. The purchase of points leverages IHG\u2019s Points and Cash bookings which is running a 20% discount on the cash portion of the booking.<\/p>\n

Points And Cash Bookings<\/span><\/h2>\n

Points & Cash bookings<\/a> work in a very simple way. Instead of paying all cash or all points for a night, you are paying with a mix of both. For instance, a hotel that prices at 40,000 points per night, may have points and cash bookings available at 20,000 points plus $150. The way the offer works is that you are effectively purchasing the additional 20,000 points (the difference between full point price and points paid) for $150.<\/p>\n

If you cancel these bookings, you are refunded the total amount in points, effectively the cash portion is converted into points for you. When there is a discount on the cash portion, like now, some excellent value can be had.<\/p>\n
