The American Express Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport — the airport\u2019s first proprietary lounge by a card issuer — sets the bar as high as the Wasatch Mountains visible from its outdoor terrace. Amex is set to cut the ribbon on the new lounge today (October 28, 2025) at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Amex\u2019s foray into SLC coincides with the airport\u2019s ambitious plans to expand and upgrade passenger facilities. The brand-new 18,000-square-foot space makes perfect sense given the growing number of eligible Card Members who pass through SLC each year.<\/p>\n

But ambitious is the word of the day. And it reflects a lot of what you\u2019ll find inside, from the ski-lodge-inspired Hearth Room to a branded coffee bar, globally inspired menus, and that year-round outdoor terrace.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a look inside the lounge and what you can expect on your visit.<\/p>\n

Amex Centurion Lounge SLC Location<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport sits in the eastern wing of Concourse B. This part of the concourse opened in October 2025 and is still undergoing a multi-phase expansion and modernization.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll find the lounge entrance airside near Gate B31. For now, this gate sits near the end of the Concourse B extension. Additional gates east of the lounge are scheduled to open in October 2026, which should make the lounge feel more centrally located within the concourse.<\/p>\n

All of Salt Lake City\u2019s gates are connected airside, but the airport\u2019s main terminal \u2014 where you\u2019ll find airline check-in counters and security \u2014 and Concourse A are separated from Concourse B by two 1,200-foot walkways: the older mid-concourse tunnel and the newer central \u201cRiver\u201d tunnel.<\/p>\n

The fastest route from the terminal or Concourse A to the Amex Centurion Lounge SLC is through the River tunnel. Once you exit the tunnel, make a right turn and follow the signage.<\/p>\n

The walk from Concourse A, where the new tunnel begins, to the Centurion Lounge should take no longer than 10 minutes if you\u2019re moving with a purpose or using the moving walkways.<\/p>\n

Amex Centurion Lounge SLC Access<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Amex Centurion Lounge in Salt Lake City is open daily from 4:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

American Express Card Members with an Amex Centurion Card<\/strong> or a Platinum-branded card — such as the American Express Platinum Card\u00ae<\/sup><\/a> or The Business Platinum Card\u00ae<\/sup> from American Express<\/a> — have unlimited access to the Amex Centurion Lounge SLC and other Centurion Lounges<\/a> in Amex\u2019s global network.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Delta SkyMiles\u00ae<\/sup> Reserve American Express Card<\/a> and Delta SkyMiles\u00ae<\/sup> Reserve Business American Express Card<\/a> Members also receive complimentary entry when flying on a same-day Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight.<\/p>\n

Amex has tightened its Centurion Lounge guest policy in recent years to combat overcrowding by introducing spending thresholds for complimentary access. Platinum Card\u00ae<\/sup> and Business Platinum Card Members can unlock complimentary guest privileges<\/a> after spending $75,000 or more in a calendar year on their card.<\/p>\n

Those who haven\u2019t met the spending requirement can still bring guests for $50 per adult and $30 per child ages 2 to 17, while children under 2 can enter free of charge with proof of age. Centurion and Amex Corporate Platinum Card Members are exceptions to this rule and can bring up to two complimentary guests per visit.<\/p>\n

Entry is limited to within three hours of your scheduled departure time. However, the three-hour rule does not usually apply to connecting flights.<\/p>\n

Amex Centurion Lounge SLC Design and Layout<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport measures 18,000 square feet. It\u2019s one of the larger outposts in Amex\u2019s network and second only to the Centurion Lounge at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even with its larger footprint, Amex didn\u2019t miss the chance to make this location stand out. From the moment you walk in, the attention to the guest experience is apparent. At the entrance, guests are met by a decorative ceiling installation made of hand-poured salt glass flakes. The design is a nod to Utah\u2019s Bonneville Salt Flats.<\/p>\n

Local inspiration extends throughout the lounge\u2019s artwork as well. That includes Erin Blundell\u2019s take on the American Express bulldog mascot. Here, she imagined it as a woven tapestry inspired by Salt Lake City\u2019s topography.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also find locally influenced art near the coffee bar, where a ceiling installation by Lindsey Adelman depicts constellations that can be seen in Utah\u2019s low-light skies.<\/p>\n

As with other Centurion Lounges, Amex has filled the space with a wide variety of seating for every type of traveler. You\u2019ll find chairs and tables in all kinds of configurations throughout the lounge. And while there\u2019s plenty of seating, it still may not be enough. Centurion Lounges are popular for a reason, and this one will likely be no different.<\/p>\n

The food and beverage program at the Salt Lake City Centurion Lounge is as comprehensive as it is globally inspired.<\/p>\n
