Here we go again! JetBlue is once again in the news with some big announcements. In the Spring of 2023, JetBlue revamped its TrueBlue loyalty program<\/a> by adding new status levels and changing how Mosaic status is earned. There have been some tweaks since then, including just this past summer when the airline announced that Blue Basic fares would now include one piece of carry-on luggage. Now we're here bearing news about what will take effect in 2025.<\/p>\n

There's good news and bad news, but on balance, the newest tweaks are sure to disappoint many members. Although the basics of the program will remain unchanged, elite members will see some of their benefits disappearing in the new year.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know about the changes, including the lost perks and a couple of enhanced benefits.<\/p>\n

Negative Changes Coming to JetBlue Mosaic Status in 2025<\/span><\/h2>\n

Overall the changes are fairly minimal. However, the impact will vary depending on the tier of TrueBlue status<\/a> you hold now.\u00a0Let\u2019s start with the benefits that members will be losing in 2025.<\/p>\n

Blue Basics fares will be more restrictive<\/span><\/h3>\n

Some of the most valuable basic perks for all JetBlue Mosaic elite members will no longer be available when booking a Blue Basic ticket<\/a>. As of March 2025, members flying on a Blue Basic fare will not be able to upgrade to Even More Space seats or even choose preferred seats. It has been a pretty common workaround for members to book a Blue Basic ticket and then “upgrade” the experience with status. After March, that is no longer an option. Big bummer.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Mosaic members will lose the ability to make same-day flight changes on Blue Basic tickets. This is a big loss for travelers who like to have flexibility in their flight plans.<\/p>\n

Since Mosaic members at all levels have access to these benefits, this will impact everyone in the program. Anyone wanting to use these Mosaic perks will now need to purchase more expensive tickets.<\/p>\n

Blade airport transfers are going away<\/span><\/h3>\n

A highly coveted perk for top-tier JetBlue Mosaic 4 members have been the four one-way Blade helicopter transfers between Manhattan and New York-Kennedy or Newark airports. Frequent New York City travelers know how much time and money this benefit can save you and will surely be disappointed that the partnership between Blade and JetBlue is ending. As of 2025, Mosaic 4 travelers will no longer have this perk available.<\/p>\n

However, if you currently have Blade credits through JetBlue Mosaic 4, and they expire in 2025, don\u2019t panic! You have until the end of 2024 to transfer them to Blade. But beware \u2014 any unused credits after December 31, 2024, will be forfeited.<\/p>\n

Positive Changes Coming to JetBlue Mosaic Status in 2025<\/span><\/h2>\n

TrueBlue program changes aren\u2019t all doom and gloom, especially for Mosaic 4 members. Top-tier members may, in fact, find these changes to be more good than bad. These are the benefits that are being enhanced in 2025:<\/p>\n

Move to Mint upgrades will be easier to earn<\/span><\/h3>\n

Currently, Mosaic 3 and 4 members who earn 150 tiles receive four upgrade certificates called Move to Mint certificates. These allow passengers to upgrade their seats to JetBlue\u2019s widely beloved first-class product, Mint. Mosaic 4 members who reach 250 tiles earn two additional Move to Mint certificates.<\/p>\n

Beginning in 2025, Mosaic 4 members who have passed the 250-tile threshold will continue to earn an additional two certificates for every 100 tiles they earn. There will be no limit on the total number of Move to Mint certificates you can earn.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also want to keep in mind that since JetBlue changed to a dynamic upgrade model in 2024, you may need to redeem more than one certificate for an upgrade on certain routes.<\/p>\n

JetBlue is building lounges in two airports<\/span><\/h3>\n

JetBlue has announced it is opening two lounges next year<\/a>, one at New York-Kennedy Airport (JFK) Terminal 5 in late 2025 and the other at Boston Logan Airport (BOS) soon after that. Mosaic 4 members will receive access to these lounges, regardless of route. One guest will also be allowed to accompany the member into the lounge.<\/p>\n

The Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\n

Both positive and negative changes to the TrueBlue program will take effect in 2025. The changes may be fairly small but can certainly impact your travel experience. So, are the changes net-positive or net-negative?<\/p>\n

Mosaic 4 members stand to gain the most here with the expanded certificate-earning potential and the new lounge access. However, the loss of benefits on Basic Blue fares will affect more members overall and may outweigh any gained benefits. This is especially true for those at the lower status levels. For many members, these will not be welcome changes.<\/p>\n
