What makes this promotion unique is that Aeroplan is offering it &#8212; not Marriott. Typically, transfer bonuses come from the program where the points originate. This time, the program where the points land is offering the bonus.<\/p>\n<p>Stack this with Marriott's 5,000 bonus when transferring 60,000 points, and you essentially get a 44% bonus on eligible transfers. But is this a deal worth taking advantage of? Consider that, on average, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/point-mile-values\/Marriott\" rel=\"noopener\">AwardWallet members have been able to leverage their Marriott Bonvoy points for 0.93\u00a2 per point<\/a>. At the same time, AwardWallet members leverage their Aeroplan points for an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/point-mile-values\/Aeroplan\" rel=\"noopener\">average value of 1.87\u00a2 per point<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now consider the optimal transfer of 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Crunching the numbers, those points are worth around $560. When you transfer them to Aeroplan, the 28,750 points you receive are worth ~$535. If you only get average redemption rates from your points, transferring Marriott points to Aeroplan means losing ~$25 of value for every 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points you transfer.<\/p>\n<p>But the math can change if you primarily use your <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/air-canada-aeroplan\/award-stopover-open-jaw\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Aeroplan points for global business and first-class travel<\/a>. In this case, on average, AwardWallet members have redeemed Aeroplan points for 2.63\u00a2 apiece. Crunching the numbers again, in this case, the 28,750 Aeroplan points are worth more than $755. In this case, it can make sense to transfer your Marriott points to Air Canada with this transfer bonus.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that you'll receive the bonus points only 8-10 weeks after the promotion ends on October 31, 2026.
