And, like many Amex benefits, you need to enroll first. It can take up to 24 hours to take effect, so plan ahead. Log in at americanexpress.com, open your Amex Gold account, and find the Dunkin' credit under Benefits. You can <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/global.americanexpress.com\/card-benefits\/detail\/dunkin-credit\/gold\" rel=\"noopener\">click here to enroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After that, pay with your Amex Gold or an additional card on the same enrolled account at an eligible U.S. Dunkin' location or through the Dunkin' app. You can earn up to $7 in total statement credits each calendar month, whether in one transaction or several.<\/p>\n<p>The credit is valid at U.S. Dunkin' locations that accept American Express, but purchases may not qualify if the transaction isn't made directly with Dunkin'. For example, purchases made through a caterer or third-party delivery app may not qualify, nor may purchases at some Dunkin' locations inside airports, gas stations or other establishments. Here are some tips to make sure you maximize this benefit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multiple purchases count. Two $3.50 coffees work the same as one $7 order. Amex tracks your monthly total, not individual transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Spending less than $7 leaves money on the table. Unused credits don't carry forward.<\/li>\n<li>The credit resets each calendar month.<\/li>\n<li>The Dunkin' app is an easy way to use your credit. Mobile orders paid with the enrolled card qualify, and it's the simplest way to land close to exactly $7. Some readers also report successfully reloading a Dunkin' stored-value card in the app to bank the credit for a larger purchase later, although Amex's terms exclude online gift card purchases, so this isn't guaranteed to work.<\/li>\n<li>Additional cards share the same $7. Cards issued to authorized users on the enrolled account draw from the same monthly cap.<\/li>\n<li>You still earn points on top of the credit. You can get up to $84 a year for a minute of effort each month, which can go a long way toward offsetting the Amex Gold&#8216;s annual fee. Set a reminder for the first of the month, order in the app, and you'll barely think about it again.<\/p>\n<p>If Dunkin' can't easily fit into your plans, then a credit that requires a monthly errand may be worth less than its face value.
