There are some restrictions for which flights you can use your upgrades, but the fact that Delta is adding this functionality is great for SkyMiles members &#8212; we can't complain about additional opportunities to redeem upgrades.<\/p>\n<p><img data-aspectratio=\"600\/171\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14543 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Aeromexico-Delta-Tails.jpg\" alt=\"Aeromexico Delta Tails\" width=\"600\" height=\"171\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Aeromexico-Delta-Tails.jpg 1400w, https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Aeromexico-Delta-Tails-300x86.jpg 300w, https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Aeromexico-Delta-Tails-1024x293.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Regional_Upgrades\">Regional Upgrades<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can use your regional upgrades under the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delta-marketed short-haul flights operated by Aerom\u00e9xico which include intra-Mexico flights, and flights between Mexico and the United States, Canada, Central America, Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela<\/li>\n<li>Basic Economy fares (E-class) are not upgradable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Global_Upgrades\">Global Upgrades<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Global upgrade certificates can be used on any Aeromexico flights that include an international flight or connection as part of the itinerary not covered by a regional upgrade.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Overall\">Overall<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This is great news if you are a Delta flyer who uses Aeromexico, which is the first partner added for global and regional upgrade eligibility <a href=\"\/news\/delta-skymiles\/use-upgrades-virgin-atlantic\/\">since Virgin Atlantic last year<\/a>. Global and regional upgrades are selected by Platinum and Diamond members, as one of their yearly <a href=\"\/airlines\/delta-skymiles\/delta-choice-benefits\/\">Delta Choice Benefits<\/a>.
