Most KrisFlyer miles follow a fixed expiration schedule, although elite members and certain promotions may have different rules. Here\u2019s how KrisFlyer mileage expiration works \u2014 and what options you have to extend or use your miles before they expire.<\/p>\n

Singapore KrisFlyer Mileage Expiration Policy<\/span><\/h2>\n

KrisFlyer miles generally expire at the end of the month, 36 months after the month they were earned. Unlike many airline programs, earning or redeeming miles does not reset the expiration clock. Per Singapore Airlines\u2019 terms and conditions<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cKrisFlyer Basic, KrisFlyer Elite Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members only: a member\u2019s KrisFlyer miles will expire after three years (or one year for KrisFlyer miles received from contests) at 23:59 hours Singapore time (GMT +08:00 hours) on the last day of the equivalent month in which they were earned. For example, KrisFlyer miles credited to a member\u2019s KrisFlyer account in July 2017 will expire at 23:59 hours Singapore time (GMT +08:00 hours) on 31 July 2020\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For example, miles earned in July 2023 will expire on July 31, 2026.<\/p>\n

Exceptions to KrisFlyer mileage expiration<\/span><\/h3>\n

Most KrisFlyer members are subject to the 36-month expiration rule. However, miles don't expire for PPS Club and Solitaire PPS Club members<\/strong>. If you lose PPS status, your miles revert to the standard 36-month expiration policy.<\/p>\n

KrisFlyer Account Expiration Rules<\/span><\/h2>\n

Even worse, your KrisFlyer account will expire 45 months after your last mile-earning date — or 24 months after enrollment if you don't make a qualifying transaction. Here's how Singapore Airlines puts it:<\/p>\n

Your KrisFlyer account will remain valid for 45 months from the end of the month of your last earning transaction. Your account <\/em>will also expire if you don\u2019t make a qualifying transaction within 24 months of your enrolment as a KrisFlyer member.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

How to Extend KrisFlyer Miles<\/span><\/h2>\n

While you cannot reset your expiration date through activity, KrisFlyer does offer a paid extension option. You can pay $12 (or 1,200 miles) to extend up to 10,000 miles. The length of the extension depends on your status:<\/p>\n
