For historical reference, here's what the card offered:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Uber has updated its Barclaycard co-brand credit card, the <b>Uber Visa Card<\/b>. Where the previous version of the card was a powerhouse no annual fee card earning 4% cash back on dining, the card now earns Uber Cash, gutting much of the value this card had to offer. The <b>Uber Visa Card<\/b> retains its cell phone protection benefits, and doesn't charge any foreign transaction fees, but you would need to be a diehard Uber fan to apply for the updated <b>Uber Card<\/b>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Uber_Visa_Card_Key_Features\"><b>Uber Visa Card<\/b> Key Features<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>No annual fee<\/li>\n<li>Earn 5% Uber Cash on Uber and Uber Eats<\/li>\n<li>Earn 3% Uber Cash on hotels, airfare, and restaurant purchases<\/li>\n<li>Earn 1% on all other purchases<\/li>\n<li>No foreign transaction fees<\/li>\n<li>Earn $100 Uber Cash after spending $500 on purchases in the first 90 days<\/li>\n<li>Cell phone protection, up to $600 per eligible claim<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the card offered a genuine 5% back on Uber it would be a lot more attractive, particularly as it includes Uber Eats purchases. However, the updated <b>Uber Card<\/b> earns Uber Cash which you can only redeem for more Uber purchases. Likewise, 3% back on travel and restaurants would be considered a top return for a no annual fee card if it were straight cash back, but 3% Uber Cash is much less attractive.
