That said, Delta still partners with China Eastern, China Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines \u2014 so you\u2019ll have options for flying to and through China on a Delta partner once this specific partnership winds down.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Delta_Sets_New_Earning_Conditions_for_ITA_Airways_Flights\">Delta Sets New Earning Conditions for ITA Airways Flights<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/airlines\/ita-airways-joining-star-alliance\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ITA Airways is leaving SkyTeam for Star Alliance<\/a> \u2014 but surprisingly, it\u2019s not ending its partnership with Delta. That said, things will look mildly different starting <strong>May 1, 2025<\/strong>. You can still <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/delta-skymiles\/book-ita-airways-awards\/\" rel=\"noopener\">book ITA flights with SkyMiles<\/a> as of now \u2014 but it's unclear whether that\u2019ll still be the case after May 1.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Marriott_Tweaks_Its_Continental_Breakfast_Policy_at_Four_Properties\">Marriott Tweaks Its Continental Breakfast Policy at Four Properties<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/marriott-bonvoy\/free-breakfast\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Marriott\u2019s breakfast policy<\/a> is infamously complex \u2014 and as of <strong>January 1, 2025<\/strong>, it got a little more confusing.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/marriott-bonvoy\/marriott-platinum-benefits\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Platinum Elite<\/a>, Titanium Elite, or Ambassador Elite, you get a \u201cGuaranteed Welcome Amenity\u201d when you check-in. Depending on the brand, that usually means a choice between bonus points or free breakfast (or a food and beverage credit). If you go with breakfast and the hotel has a lounge, you\u2019ll be directed there. After a quiet update to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marriott.com\/loyalty\/terms\/default.mi#:~:text=B.%C2%A0Except%20for%20Marriott%20Residences%20Salgados%20Resort%2C%20Algarve%2C%20Marriott%20Residences%20do%20not%20participate%20in%20the%20Loyalty%20Program.\" rel=\"noopener\">terms and conditions<\/a>, Marriott clarified that you can now earn points and Elite Night Credits on eligible stays at this property.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear whether other Residences-branded properties \u2014 like JW Residences or Renaissance Residences \u2014 will follow suit. Instead, it maintains an extensive network of airline partners. The chart is distance-based and includes fairly reasonable award rates, especially for long-haul business class. However, the list of partners has recently contracted by two.<\/p>\n<p>First, Accor removed Oman Air from its <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/all.accor.com\/loyalty-program\/partners\/index.en.shtml\" rel=\"noopener\">list of partners<\/a> and taken down the partnership landing page on <strong>January 25, 2025<\/strong>. While the partnership was active, Accor members could convert 4,000 Rewards points into 1,500 Sindbad miles, and Sindbad members could convert 1,500 miles into 500 Rewards points.<\/p>\n<p>Then, on <strong>March 20, 2025<\/strong>, Accor ended its two-way transfer partnership with the Hainan Fortune Wings Club. Until this week, travelers could get 2,000 Accor Rewards points for every 1,000 Fortune Wings points transferred &#8212; or 2,500 Fortune Wings points for every 500 Accor Rewards points transferred.<\/p>\n<p>The transfer ratios weren't great on either of these, but these types of partnerships are handy for rescuing orphaned mileage balances.
