While some long-haul business class awards \u2014 like those between North America and Asia \u2014 are going up in price, many short-haul economy awards within Asia are getting cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>To ease the transition, Cathay has also launched a limited-time rebate for select economy redemptions, offering a small window of savings if you're planning to travel later this year. Here are all the details.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Get_5000_Miles_Back_on_Select_Cathay_Pacific_Award_Redemptions\">Get 5,000 Miles Back on Select Cathay Pacific Award Redemptions<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For bookings made by <strong>April 22, 2025<\/strong>, Asia Miles members can earn a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/flights.cathaypacific.com\/en_HK\/offers\/miles-rebate-offer.html\" rel=\"noopener\">5,000-mile rebate on round-trip economy awards<\/a> to or from Hong Kong (HKG) and a list of long-haul destinations. Eligible cities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Amsterdam (AMS)<\/li>\n<li>Barcelona (BCN)<\/li>\n<li>Brussels (BRU)<\/li>\n<li>Chicago (ORD)<\/li>\n<li>Dallas (DFW)<\/li>\n<li>Frankfurt (FRA)<\/li>\n<li>London (LHR)<\/li>\n<li>Los Angeles (LAX)<\/li>\n<li>Madrid (MAD)<\/li>\n<li>Manchester (MAN)<\/li>\n<li>Milan (MXP)<\/li>\n<li>Munich (MUC)<\/li>\n<li>New York (JFK)<\/li>\n<li>Paris (CDG)<\/li>\n<li>Rome (FCO)<\/li>\n<li>San Francisco (SFO)<\/li>\n<li>Toronto (YYZ)<\/li>\n<li>Vancouver (YVR)<\/li>\n<li>Zurich (ZRH)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Awards must be round-trip, but open-jaw itineraries are allowed. In other words, you could fly from Hong Kong to London and return from Paris, for example. Travel must take place <strong>between September 15 and December 11, 2025<\/strong>. Rebated miles will be returned to your account after travel is completed \u2014 but no later than January 31, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>If you hold a Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard (including Priority Banking or Priority Private versions), you'll get an additional 500-mile rebate per booking.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Award_pricing_after_the_rebate\">Award pricing after the rebate<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The cities included in this promo fall into either the Long or Ultra-Long zones on <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/news\/airlines\/cathay-pacific-changes-2023\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Cathay Pacific\u2019s award chart<\/a>. That said, here's how many Asia Miles you'll need to book round-trip awards in either zone:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Long (5,001\u20137,500 miles):<\/strong> 54,000 Asia Miles round trip \u2192 49,000 after rebate<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ultra-Long (7,501+ miles):<\/strong> 76,000 Asia Miles round trip \u2192 71,000 after rebate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll still need the full mileage amount available when you book, as the 5,000-mile rebate is credited back to your account after you complete your travel.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also worth noting that none of these destinations are impacted by the upcoming Cathay Pacific devaluation.
