Beyond the new name and a fresh coat of paint (literally), this no-annual-fee card is getting a major overhaul. And many of the changes are kicking in on <strong>July 20, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a breakdown of what\u2019s changing with the Citi Rewards+, for better and for worse.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"What8217s_Changing_With_the_Citi_Rewards\">What's Changing With the Citi Rewards+?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Citi Rewards+<\/strong> was officially discontinued on <strong>July 20, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 the same day the Citi Strata Card changes take effect. According to Citi, all existing Citi Rewards+ cardholders were automatically be transitioned to the new Citi Strata\u2120 Card.<\/p>\n<p>The Citi Rewards+\u00a0was due for a refresh, and it's getting a big one. In an email to cardholders, Citi outlined several upcoming changes to its no-annual-fee <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ThankYou<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Rewards-earning card<\/a>. Some of them add value, while others take it away.<\/p>\n<p>So, what exactly is changing? Here's a high-level overview:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Earning rates:<\/strong> The new card will be much more rewarding for a broader range of purchases, thanks to expanded bonus categories.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Citi Rewards+:<\/strong> 2X points at supermarkets and gas stations (up to $6,000\/year), then 1X on all other purchases<\/li>\n<li><strong>Citi Strata Card: <\/strong>5X on Citi Travel\u2120 bookings (including hotels, car rentals, and attractions); 3X on supermarkets, gas and EV charging stations, select transit, and one self-selected category (choose from fitness clubs, select streaming services, live entertainment, cosmetic stores\/barber shops\/hair salons, or pet supply stores); 2X at restaurants; 1X on everything else<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eliminated benefits:<\/strong> Two key Citi Rewards+ perks will not be available to Citi Strata Card\u00a0cardholders:\n<ul>\n<li>The automatic round-up to the nearest 10 points on purchases<\/li>\n<li>10% points rebate on the first 100,000 ThankYou Points redeemed each calendar year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>New name:<\/strong> The card is getting a rebrand from \u201cCiti Rewards+<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card\u201d to the \u201cCiti Strata\u2120 Card.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>New design:<\/strong> A new look is coming, too.
