These updated rates will apply to Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights, as well as redemptions through KrisShop, Kris+, and Pelago. The changes affect how you use KrisFlyer miles to pay for part of a cash purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Here's what you need to know.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Singapore_Airlines_KrisFlyer_to_Improve_the_Rates_of_Select_Redemptions\">Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer to Improve the Rates of Select Redemptions<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span id=\"Mile_and_cash_redemptions\">Mile and cash redemptions<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Singapore is improving the exchange rate when you use KrisFlyer Miles to partially offset the cash portion of a ticket on Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Current exchange rate:<\/strong> 105 KrisFlyer Miles per S$1 (about $0.78 USD)<\/li>\n<li><strong>New exchange rate:<\/strong> 100 KrisFlyer Miles per S$1 (about $0.78 USD)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additionally, the minimum number of miles required for these redemptions has decreased slightly, from 1,050 miles to 1,000 miles. Redemptions for flights on Scoot and Singapore offer about a 5% improvement in value. While modest, it's still better than nothing \u2014 or any sort of devaluation.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Non-flight_redemptions\">Non-flight redemptions<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Singapore is also enhancing the value of miles for non-flight redemptions through KrisShop, Kris+, and Pelago. At the new rate, you get about one Singaporean cent per mile (roughly $0.78 USD), while redeeming for award flights can deliver significantly better value.<\/p>\n<p>On average, AwardWallet members have been able to achieve 2.48\u00a2 per mile, nearly two and a half times higher than using miles for partial payment. Unless you have miles you absolutely cannot use, you\u2019ll almost always be better off redeeming them for award flights.<\/p>\n<p>And if you\u2019re short on miles to complete an award booking,
