Perhaps just as notably, Citi also just added American Airlines AAdvantage<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> as a Citi ThankYou<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> transfer partner.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to know about both developments.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Transfer_Citi_Points_to_American_Airlines\">Transfer Citi Points to American Airlines<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As of <strong>July 27, 2025<\/strong>, Citi ThankYou Points can now be transferred to the American Airlines AAdvantage program at a 1:1 ratio \u2014 meaning 1,000 ThankYou Points will convert into 1,000 AAdvantage miles. This addition makes American Airlines the 21st <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-transfer-partners\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Citi transfer partner<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This long-anticipated addition is only available to cardholders of the following three Citi products:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a data-ccid=\"242\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-strata-elite-offer\/\">Citi Strata Elite<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a data-ccid=\"520083\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-strata-premier\/\">Citi Strata Premier<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a data-ccid=\"10\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-prestige\/\" =_blank>Citi Prestige<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a> (no longer open to new applicants)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Citi clarified that these AAdvantage miles will be credited as AAdvantage Bonus Miles. That means you won't <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/airlines\/american-aadvantage\/loyalty-points\/\" rel=\"noopener\">earn Loyalty Points<\/a> toward AAdvantage status by transferring Citi points to American Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>This addition makes Citi the only U.S. bank offering 1:1 point transfers to American Airlines AAdvantage. And the long wait is finally over. Today, Citi launched its newest card: the <a data-ccid=\"242\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/citi-strata-elite-offer\/\">Citi Strata Elite<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This card takes the new spot as Citi\u2019s flagship travel rewards card. With an annual fee of $595 and strong earn rates across travel and dining categories, the card is clearly aimed at high-spending travelers who want premium perks and strong return on everyday purchases.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Citi_Strata_Elite_earning_rates\">Citi Strata Elite earning rates<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\r\n<li>12X \u2013 Earn 12 Points per $1 spent on Hotels, Car Rentals, and Attractions booked on cititravel.com.<\/li>\r\n<li>6X \u2013 Earn 6 Points per $1 spent on Air Travel booked on cititravel.com.<\/li>\r\n<li>6X \u2013 Earn 6 Points per $1 spent at Restaurants including Restaurant Delivery Services on CitiNights\u2120 purchases, every Friday and Saturday from 6 PM to 6 AM ET.
