The spending categories offered with this card are excellent, with most benefiting homeowner purchases directly.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3X Mesa Points on home and family expenses \u2014 home improvement, decor, maintenance, utilities, and daycare.<\/li>\n<li>2X Mesa Points on everyday purchases \u2014 groceries, gas, EV charging, and more.<\/li>\n<li>1X Mesa Points on all other eligible purchases.<\/li>\n<li>1X Mesa Points on all monthly mortgage payments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The card also comes with up to $700 in annual statement credits for home-related purchases. You can redeem Mesa Points for gift cards, experiences (including flights and hotels), or statement credits. Mesa Points have a relatively low redemption rate compared to other credit card loyalty programs. For example, a $100 gift card requires 12,500 Mesa Points.<\/p>\n<p>When redeeming Mesa points for a statement credit, 10,000 points convert to $60, giving each Mesa Point a fixed value of 0.6 cents. You can also buy points at the same ratio &#8211; 10,000 points for $60. However, if you convert your points into cash for your mortgage, each point becomes 0.8 cents. However, you do not need to make payments with the Mesa card to collect rewards. Thereafter, you must make at least $1,000 in purchases with the Mesa Homeowners Card each month to collect mortgage payment rewards.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, <a href=\"\/news\/bilt-rewards\/bilt-card-changes-survey\/\">Bilt announced plans to offer members rewards on mortgage payments<\/a> made with <a data-ccid=\"5048346\" href=\"\/blog\/link\/BiltRewards\" target=_blank rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\">The Bilt Mastercard<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/a>. When that happens, Mesa Homeowners Cardholders should be able to double-dip, making mortgage payments with the Bilt card and claiming rewards with both cards.<\/p>\n<p>It's hard to believe that a card gives points on purchases not made with the card. Mesa just really wants to reward homeowners. When we reached out to Mesa, the response was, <em>&#8220;As with all consumer credit programs, various types of spend earns interchange which allows for the funding of rewards programs and points earning in many scenarios.&#8221;<\/em> In other words, they make it straight towards rewarding the consumer.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"1X_points_on_Mesa_Mortgages\">1X points on Mesa Mortgages<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mesa also offers mortgage loans in eight states. If you are approved for a Mesa mortgage loan or refinance an existing loan, you will receive 1X Mesa Points on the total principal of the loan.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Applying_for_the_Mesa_Homeowners_Card\">Applying for the Mesa Homeowners Card<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can apply for the Mesa Homeowners Card through the Mesa app, which is available on the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/mesa\/id6553957119\" rel=\"noopener\">App Store<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.mesamember.mesa\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Play<\/a>. If the app prompts you to join the waitlist, exit the app and select &#8220;Force Stop&#8221; in the app settings. When you re-open the app, you should get the option to apply.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Sign-up_bonus_for_the_Mesa_Homeowners_Card\">Sign-up bonus for the Mesa Homeowners Card<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Currently, the Mesa Homeowners Card does not offer a welcome bonus. The previous offer to earn 50,000 points ended quite abruptly. Instead, you can use a referral code (such as <strong>hkma2g<\/strong>) to earn 5,000 bonus Mesa points after making your first purchase with the Mesa Homeowners Card. The referrer also receives 5,000 bonus points.<\/p>\n<p>Members can earn up to 100,000 points from referring others to the Mesa Homeowners Card each year.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Our_Take\">Our Take<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Mesa Homeowners Card is a relatively new addition to your wallet, but it's already one of the most important cards to have if you have a mortgage. The ability to earn points on mortgage payments is revolutionary, especially when you don't need to use the card for the mortgage payments while still collecting points.<\/p>\n<p>What's even more impressive about this card is the more than $700 in annual benefits, considering it doesn't have any annual fee. It has us continually scratching our heads, wondering what the catch is.
