It's been a busy summer for this Muscat-based airline. Oman Air became Oneworld Alliance's 15th member<\/a> back in June, and has now announced a strategic partnership with Turkish Airlines<\/a>, a member of the Star Alliance. Now, you'll be able to earn miles with one airline when you fly with the other. Here's what you need to know.<\/p>\n

Oman Air and Turkish Airlines Announce an Earnings-Only Partnership<\/span><\/h2>\n

For now, the new partnership between Turkish Airlines and Oman Air is earnings-only. This means that you won't be able to redeem Miles&Smiles for an Oman Air flight, or Sindbad miles for a Turkish Airlines flight.<\/p>\n

Here's how you'll be able to earn Turkish Miles & Smiles miles when flying on Oman Air by fare class:<\/p>\n

The above chart shows the Miles&Smiles accrual on Oman Air flights<\/a>. Note that booking classes Z, U, W, and X are not eligible for accrual. As of August 1, 2025, you can submit a claim for retroactive miles for Oman Air flights within 12 months following the flight date.<\/p>\n

So, if you've flown on Oman Air recently, you can submit a claim to earn your Turkish Airlines miles. You'll earn anywhere from 10% to 200% miles depending on your fare class flown.<\/p>\n

This chart shows the eligible booking classes to accrue miles through Oman's Sindbad program when flying on Turkish Airlines<\/a>. Note that booking classes R, I, F, P, W, U, X, N, and G are all ineligible for accrual.<\/p>\n

You'll earn anywhere from 25% to 150% miles, depending on your fare class. This is a more limited window than the Turkish Airlines accrual, but it's still worth considering \u2014 especially if Oman Air makes its miles more valuable in the future by opening up redemptions on Oneworld member airlines.<\/p>\n

Final Thoughts<\/span><\/h2>\n

This partnership is unique as you can now earn miles on a Oneworld Alliance carrier when flying on Star Alliance carrier-operated flight (and vice versa). This strategic partnership is great news for frequent flyers of either airline. Keep in mind that you won't earn elite status qualifying miles, and you won't be able to redeem miles under this partnership. While it's somewhat limited, every new opportunity to earn miles is a good thing.<\/p>\n
