Earning one of these bonuses, even if it\u2019s small, is the easiest way to jumpstart a new account. So, if you haven't yet, sign up for Rove to claim your bonus miles<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rove is free to join, so these will be among the easiest miles you'll ever earn.<\/p>\n Rove makes it incredibly easy to earn redeemable miles. While you can rack up plenty of Rove Miles by shopping online<\/a> through its browser extension (similar to Rakuten<\/a> or AAdvantage eShopping<\/a>), the bulk of the miles I\u2019ve earned have come from paid travel.<\/p>\n And I\u2019ve earned a lot thanks to the huge multipliers available on both flights and hotels. The process works a little differently depending on what you\u2019re booking, so let\u2019s start with flights.<\/p>\n Take this $168 one-way flight from Raleigh-Durham (RDU) to Punta Cana (PUJ) as an example. If I book it through Rove, I still earn AAdvantage miles<\/a> on the reservation (along with Loyalty Points toward elite status), credit card rewards based on my payment method, and I also earn Rove Miles.<\/p>\n At the bare minimum, I\u2019ll earn 168 Rove Miles, which amounts to 1X Rove Mile per dollar spent.<\/p>\n Now, 168 miles isn\u2019t all that exciting, but I can multiply that by 10X and earn 1,168 Rove Miles by paying an extra $24.19 for a boost. And in many cases, it\u2019s easy to get more value out of those miles than what you pay to acquire them.<\/p>\n Hotels can be a lot more lucrative. You earn more Rove Miles per dollar spent right from the get-go. For example, if I booked a two-night stay at The Edgewater in Seattle, I\u2019d earn 33.2X<\/strong> Rove Miles per dollar spent. And it\u2019s not unusual to see multipliers even higher than that.<\/p>\n Another neat feature is that, on this particular booking, I could flip a switch to make it nonrefundable, and Rove would deposit the mileage earnings immediately. That means I could then use those miles right away to book my flight to Seattle. How convenient is that?!<\/p>\n Now about using those Rove Miles\u2026<\/p>\n Rove Miles are transferable to a growing list of partner airline and hotel loyalty programs, but one of my favorite ways to redeem them isn\u2019t through partners at all. While I\u2019ve certainly transferred miles, most of my Rove redemptions have been for paid travel.<\/p>\n I like using Rove Miles this way for two main reasons. First, when I redeem Rove Miles for flight bookings, they count as revenue tickets, so I earn airline miles and elite status credits. Second, it\u2019s possible to get well above one cent per mile in value on both flights and hotels.<\/p>\n For flights, I\u2019ve consistently redeemed Rove Miles for about 1.4 cents each. A good example is my upcoming trip to Chicago Seminars<\/a> in early November (if you haven\u2019t made plans to join us yet, you should!). There weren\u2019t any worthwhile award tickets, and I didn\u2019t want to pay $500 for round-trip flights. Instead, I booked the ticket with 35,500 Rove Miles, which works out to just under 1.4 cents per mile.<\/p>\n Hotels work similarly. Like with flights, redemption rates are dynamic, and while I\u2019ve more consistently gotten around 1.5 cents per mile on hotels I wanted to stay at anyway, I\u2019ve also come across plenty of opportunities where the value is closer to double that.<\/p>\n For example, a three-night stay in late November at the H\u00f4tel Saint-P\u00e9tersbourg Op\u00e9ra & Spa will give you 2.90 cents per mile. That\u2019s incredible.<\/p>\n But it\u2019s possible to unlock even greater value through transfer partners.<\/p>\n Part of what first encouraged me to sign up for Rove was the chance to earn transferable points<\/a> on flights, hotels, and online shopping without needing to open another credit card.
