You\u2019ll earn fewer Rove Miles on loyalty-eligible bookings.<\/p>\n<p>That said, you\u2019re not earning nothing. You\u2019ll still earn 5X Rove Miles per dollar spent on these stays. That\u2019s lower than some of the higher payouts Rove offers, but that\u2019s the trade-off. You can take the reduced earning rate and get hotel points and elite credits, or skip those perks and go for a higher Rove Miles payout (up to 25X Rove Miles or more).<\/p>\n<p>In practice, sometimes the loyalty-eligible rates are compelling, and sometimes they\u2019re not. I\u2019ve personally booked the loyalty-eligible rate when it\u2019s identical (or almost identical) to the non-loyalty rate. Here\u2019s how it works:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Rove Miles earned on the booking itself:<\/strong> 5X per dollar spent on bookings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elite-status credits, bonus points, and elite benefits:<\/strong> Earned through the hotel brand where you hold (or are working toward) elite status.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Credit card rewards:<\/strong> Earned on the card you use to pay, whether it\u2019s a co-branded hotel or airline card, or one that earns transferable points or cash back.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you book directly with the hotel, you\u2019ll only earn rewards from numbers two and three.
