And as a result, American began winding down its partnership with Barclays. We now know that existing Barclays cards will be converted to equivalent Citi products beginning in the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>And those impending conversions were likely the catalyst for the launch of the Citi AAdvantage Globe Card, since Citi didn\u2019t have a direct equivalent to the AAdvantage<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Aviator<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Silver Mastercard<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> until now. That card has long served as AA\u2019s de facto mid-tier card, but has been something of an enigma in the Barclays portfolio because it was only available through targeted upgrade offers.<\/p>\n<p>That said, the Citi AAdvantage Globe Card\u00a0is quite different from the Aviator Silver.
