A handful of Strip and near-Strip properties quietly rolled back \u2014 or selectively waived \u2014 these charges, likely in response to softer demand and travelers pushing back against $40\u2013$60 nightly add-ons.<\/p>\n<p>But was that a temporary concession, or a longer-term shift? As we head into 2026, the answer varies widely by hotel brand, loyalty program, and booking method. Some properties are continuing to waive resort fees under specific conditions, while others appear to be walking those changes back.<\/p>\n<p>We reached out directly to several major Las Vegas hotels to find out what\u2019s sticking, what\u2019s changing, and which strategies still work if you want to avoid paying resort fees this year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"toc_container\" class=\"toc_light_blue no_bullets\"><p class=\"toc_title\">Page Contents<\/p><ul class=\"toc_list\"><li><a href=\"#Resorts_World\">Resorts World<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#The_Venetian_Resort\">The Venetian Resort<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Virgin_Hotels_Las_Vegas\">Virgin Hotels Las Vegas<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#MGM_Collection_Marriott\">MGM Collection (Marriott)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#The_Strat\">The Strat<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Caesars_and_Wyndham\">Caesars (and Wyndham)<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#Bottom_Line\">Bottom Line<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n<h2><span id=\"Resorts_World\">Resorts World<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A spokesperson with Hilton's trio of properties &#8212; Hilton, Conrad, and Crockfords &#8212; confirmed to AwardWallet that they <em>will<\/em> continue to offer no resort fees &#8220;on select dates&#8221; in 2026:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Nightly rates vary, and the offer is available for our more premium offerings in Conrad and Crockfords as well.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Finding these no-resort-fee nights can be hit or miss. But they're certainly out there. For example, here's an example of no resort fees being charged at Resorts World for a stay this upcoming April:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_240731\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-aspectratio=\"668\/516\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-240731 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-22-8.39.01-PM.png\" alt=\"No resort fees at Resorts World in 2026\" width=\"668\" height=\"516\" \/><center><em>Screenshot of Resorts World showing $0 in resort fees<\/em><\/enter><\/figure>\n<p>However, travelers who book a Resorts World property through <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/amex-fine-hotels-and-resorts\/\">Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts<\/a> aren't spared. For reservations booked through FHR, it appears that resort fees will still apply.<\/p>\n<p>FHR is a benefit available to Centurion<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card from American Express, <b>The American Express Corporate Platinum Card<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/b>,\u00a0 <a data-ccid=\"4028089\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/amex-platinum\/\">American Express Platinum Card<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/a>, and <a data-ccid=\"4028096\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/amex-membership-rewards\/amex-business-platinum\/\">The Business Platinum Card<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> from American Express<\/a> cardholders.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"The_Venetian_Resort\">The Venetian Resort<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/world-of-hyatt\/venetian-las-vegas-joins-hyatt\/\" rel=\"noopener\">The Venetian joined Hyatt's growing portfolio<\/a> in January 2025. A Hyatt spokesperson told us that top-tier <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/world-of-hyatt\/hyatt-globalist\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyatt Globalists<\/a> will continue to see waived resort fees on award stays in 2026.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>World of Hyatt Globalist members currently enjoy waived resort fees on award stays and we will share if that changes to include paid stays.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While only Globalists are eligible for no resort fees, lower-tier <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/world-of-hyatt\/hyatt-discoverist\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Discoverist<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/world-of-hyatt\/hyatt-explorist\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Explorist<\/a> elite status holders are still eligible for early check-in, late check-out, and suite upgrades &#8212; based on availability &#8212; when staying at The Venetian. You won't pay resort fees if you book your Virgin Hotels Las Vegas stay completely using Hilton points.<\/p>\n<p>Also worth noting: While you can use Virgin points to book Virgin Hotels properties across the U.S., that is <em>not<\/em> the case in Las Vegas (yet). A Virgin Hotels spokesperson tells AwardWallet:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><span class=\"il\">Virgin Hotels<\/span>\u00a0Las Vegas is not yet setup to accept reservations using\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Virgin<\/span> Points. Guests are currently able to earn\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Virgin<\/span>\u00a0Points on stays, but we hope Rewards Stays using points will be available soon.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/virgin-atlantic-flying-club\/virgin-hotels-promotion\/\">Virgin Hotels Promotion: Book Award Stays at Select Properties from 15k Transferable Points<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"MGM_Collection_Marriott\">MGM Collection (Marriott)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Marriott's partnership with MGM Resorts, dubbed the MGM Collection, is comprised of more than 15 properties &#8212; 12 in Las Vegas &#8212; and <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/marriott-bonvoy\/marriott-mgm-partnership\/\">waives resort fees<\/a> for Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite members.<\/p>\n<p>We reached out to both MGM and Marriott to inquire if other Marriott Bonvoy status holders might see waived resort fees in 2026, and we will update when we hear back.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, MGM Gold status holders (and above) also get waived resort fees, which is possible through credit card spend &#8212; $25,000 at MGM properties &#8212; on the <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/hotels\/mgm-credit-card\/\">MGM World Elite Card<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"The_Strat\">The Strat<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of my favorite, under-the-radar award redemptions in Las Vegas had been The Strat for 5,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/hotels\/best-western-promotion\/\">Best Western Rewards<\/a> points on a weeknight, primarily because that points rate <em>waived<\/em> the nightly $56.63 resort fee.<\/p>\n<p>However, that appears to have changed recently. Now, when trying to book a stay at The Strat using Best Western points, the resort fee is now being charged:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_240736\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-aspectratio=\"343\/352\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP\/\/\/yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-240736 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-22-9.24.48-PM.png\" alt=\"Resort Fees at The Strat, Las Vegas\" width=\"343\" height=\"352\" \/><center><em>Credit: Best Western<\/em><\/enter><\/figure>\n<p>We have also reached out to both The Strat and Best Western for comment on this apparent change. As it stands now, you'll still be on the hook for the resort fee &#8212; although a 5,000-point redemption still provides decent value in Sin City.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Caesars_and_Wyndham\">Caesars (and Wyndham)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Caesars Entertainment has pretty much put a stop to the <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/wyndham-rewards\/caesars-status-match\/\">merry-go-round<\/a>, but earned <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/wyndham-rewards\/diamond-status-benefits\/\">Wyndham Diamond status<\/a> holders &#8212; that's 40 nights in a Wyndham hotel bed annually &#8212; are still able to match to Caesars Rewards Diamond status and enjoy waived resort fees across all Caesars properties.<\/p>\n<p>Wyndham also offers rollover nights at all status levels. Meaning, if you stayed 50 nights at Wyndham properties in 2026, you'd only need 30 nights in 2027 to re-qualify for Wyndham Diamond &#8212; and, subsequently, match to Caesars Diamond.
