If you earn 50,000 status points in a calendar year, you'll earn Elite Platinum status, which comes with unlimited companion travel. Although it still requires substantial spending to reach, you have the whole year to get there.<\/p>\n<p>Companion certificates are valid for round-trip travel, and if you earn more than one, you can change your companion each time you fly. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Here are the blackout dates for 2026:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>January 1, 3-4, 15-16, 19<\/li>\n<li>February 12-13, 16<\/li>\n<li>March 13-15, 20-22, 27-29<\/li>\n<li>April 3-6, 10-12<\/li>\n<li>May 21-22, 25<\/li>\n<li>June 25-28<\/li>\n<li>July 2-6<\/li>\n<li>September 3-4, 7<\/li>\n<li>October 8-9, 11-12<\/li>\n<li>November 24-25, 28-30<\/li>\n<li>December 19-24, 26-31<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In other words, there are roughly 60 days throughout the year on which you can't use your hard-earned companion certificate. These include almost all federal holidays or long weekends you might have off work.<\/p>\n<p>Your companion will also need to have a Frontier Miles account number, and they must be added at the time of booking within the same ticket. While this is still a benefit worth exploring, its utility has just decreased substantially.
