One of the newest card offerings is the Citi\u00ae<\/sup> \/ AAdvantage\u00ae<\/sup> Globe\u2122 Mastercard\u00ae<\/sup><\/a>. Considered an upper-mid-tier credit card with a $350 annual fee, the card follows a familiar trend: multiple expiring credits designed to help offset the annual fee.<\/p>\n

One notable perk is the card\u2019s Admirals Club day passes. These passes have their own branding \u2014 \u201cAdmirals Club Globe Passes\u201d \u2014 and work a little differently than standard Admirals Club day passes.<\/p>\n

I signed up for the card and had my own questions about how these passes would be used in practice. Here\u2019s how to use Admirals Club Globe Passes on your next American Airlines flight.<\/p>\n

How To Use Admirals Club Globe Passes<\/span><\/h2>\n

When you apply for the Citi AAdvantage Globe Card<\/a>, you'll add your American Airlines AAdvantage<\/a> number to the application. This is to ensure you receive the correct number of redeemable miles and Loyalty Points<\/a> for card spending. Linking your AAdvantage account also activates card benefits tied to it, including Admirals Club Globe Passes.<\/p>\n

Cardmembers can access their Admirals Club Globe Passes through the American Airlines mobile app, where the passes load automatically. However, they can be a bit tricky to find \u2014 on my first Admirals Club visit as a cardholder, it took a few minutes to locate them.<\/p>\n

Here's how to find them in the app<\/span><\/h3>\n

In your app, you'll select the “AAdvantage” tab at the bottom of your screen. Once there, select the “Rewards” tile under the AAdvantage account section.<\/p>\n

After the page loads, scroll to the bottom of the section titled “Seat coupons, upgrades and passes.” There, you'll see your Admirals Club Globe Passes, clearly stating how many are available for use.<\/p>\n

Click on “View passes” and present the QR code for scanning at the entrance to the Admirals Club lounge. When I was approved for the card, the passes appeared immediately. I also received an email from American confirming they were available.<\/p>\n

How many Admirals Club Globe Passes do I receive with the card?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Each primary cardmember will receive four Admirals Club<\/a> Globe Passes each calendar year to use at nearly 50 Admirals Club locations worldwide<\/a>. An important note: any additional cardholders on the account do not<\/em> receive Globe Passes.<\/p>\n

When do Admirals Club Globe Passes expire?<\/span><\/h3>\n

The four Admirals Club Globe Passes expire at the end of each calendar year and are “use-it-or-lose-it.” If you choose to redeem a Globe Pass, it is valid for 24 hours and can be used at multiple Admirals Club locations within that timeframe.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind this is different from an AAdvantage status year, which runs March 1 through February 28 of the following year.<\/p>\n

Can I use my Admirals Club Globe Passes on others?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Primary cardholders must be present to use a Globe Pass. Each pass admits the cardholder and either one guest or up to three children under 18.<\/p>\n

That means if a cardmember uses all four Globe Passes on a single travel day, they could bring up to four additional adult guests.<\/p>\n

Do I need to fly American to use my Globe Pass?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Admirals Club Globe Passes require a same-day boarding pass for an eligible flight. Eligible flights include any departing or arriving flight:<\/p>\n
