Had plans to transfer American Express Membership Rewards<\/a> points to ANA Mileage Club soon? Well, that might not be happening \u2014 at least for a bit. We\u2019ve noticed that Amex has temporarily paused transfers to ANA.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know, plus when the issuer expects transfer capabilities to return.<\/p>\n

Amex Pauses Transfers to ANA Mileage Club<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are plenty of great uses for ANA Mileage Club miles<\/a>, and one of the easiest ways to earn them is by transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to ANA at a 1:1 ratio. But for at least a few days, those transfers will be off limits.<\/p>\n

On the Amex transfer partner<\/a> webpage, the issuer added a notice next to ANA\u2019s listing that reads:<\/p>\n

“Due to planned maintenance, Membership Rewards\u00ae<\/sup> point transfer to ANA will be temporarily unavailable online and by phone from February 25 at 1 PM MST to March 2 at 7 PM MST. We apologize for any inconvenience.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As for what kind of maintenance Amex is performing, we're not sure. But it's a bit unsettling to see a red caution symbol next to a transfer partner, given that Amex has notices next to other partners, where things didn't turn out so good.<\/p>\n

These include Emirates Skywards, where transfers were devalued in September 2025<\/a>, and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, where transfers are set to be devalued on March 1, 2026<\/a>. So, it's easy to see why this seemed cause for concern before reading Amex's message.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, though, everything should return to normal soon. If all goes according to plan, ANA transfers will resume late on March 2, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Other Ways to Earn ANA Mileage Club Miles via Points Transfers<\/span><\/h2>\n

If this Amex Membership Rewards transfer pause put a dent in your travel plans, you (sadly) don\u2019t have many quick and easy alternatives for topping off your ANA Mileage Club balance until transfers return.<\/p>\n

ANA does have a few other transfer partners, but they\u2019re hotel programs with poor transfer ratios and slow transfer times, so they\u2019re unlikely to help much in the short term.<\/p>\n

That said, you still have options if you're in a rush to book ANA flights with transferable points.<\/p>\n

Because ANA is part of Star Alliance, you can book its flights through partner airline programs such as United MileagePlus<\/a> and Air Canada Aeroplan<\/a>. In many cases, it\u2019s much easier to build balances in those programs via transferable points.<\/p>\n

Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\n

Through early March, Amex will be performing maintenance related to transfers to ANA Mileage Club. As a result, you won\u2019t be able to transfer Membership Rewards points to ANA online or over the phone until March 2 at 7 PM MST<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll admit, maintenance that takes an entire transfer partner offline isn\u2019t exactly routine. But we\u2019re hopeful this is as straightforward as it sounds and not a signal of negative changes ahead \u2014 especially since a similar \u201ctemporary\u201d pause previously preceded another transferable rewards program losing a transfer partner altogether<\/a>.<\/p>\n
