Reportedly, JetBlue plans to use the Collins Aerospace MiQ seat, which is already found in domestic first class cabins on many American Airlines and Delta Air Lines flights.<\/p>\n The seats include some nice features, including:<\/p>\n These seats are reportedly expected to be installed on every Airbus aircraft in JetBlue\u2019s fleet that doesn\u2019t already feature the airline\u2019s older Mint product. To make room for the larger seats, which will reportedly offer 36 to 37 inches of pitch, standard economy legroom is expected to shrink to 30 inches.<\/p>\n That's a major downgrade from their current industry-best economy legroom of 32 inches.<\/p>\n With earnings season underway, JetBlue\u2019s latest earnings call<\/a> revealed a few new details for those eager to learn more about the upcoming product.<\/p>\n JetBlue President Marty St. George said the new domestic first class experience is expected to debut in the second half of 2026. However, the airline hasn\u2019t yet announced when first class seats will officially go on sale.<\/p>\n JetBlue believes the new premium cabin will help improve its Revenue per Available Seat Mile (RASM), one of the airline industry\u2019s most important financial metrics. Put simply, RASM measures how much revenue an airline generates per seat for every mile flown.<\/p>\n The airline also believes the new cabin will help it compete more effectively in key focus cities like Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, where JetBlue also plans to open a future BlueHouse lounge<\/a> once it secures enough space for the project.<\/p>\n The big questions for TrueBlue<\/a> members are still unanswered. For starters, we don't know how much this new offering will cost — either in cash or TrueBlue points. And, how will upgrades be handled for Mosaic members? Perhaps a credit card refresh for one of JetBlue's co-branded cards<\/a> will come with Mini Mint perks.<\/p>\n Down the line, we may even see reciprocal upgrades with strategic partners like United<\/a>. Time will tell how this new product innovation will change JetBlue's operations and prospects.<\/p>\n With Spirit's bankruptcy<\/a>, JetBlue will also have to find ways to attract Spirit's customers to improve its strategic position.<\/p>\n Mini Mint will be an exciting new addition to the JetBlue experience. With a true domestic first class product flying on every plane, at least when the rollout is complete, JetBlue can effectively compete with other mainline carriers.
