First Impressions<\/span><\/h2>\nDuring my recent stay at the Andaz Miami Beach during the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix race weekend, this Hyatt property offered a sense of calm amid the chaos. It started the moment I walked through the front doors: Gone were the traffic jam noises and hustle of a city preparing for a major sporting event the magnitude of a Formula 1 race, replaced by the sound of clinking cocktail glasses by the lobby bar.<\/p>\n
At the Andaz Miami Beach, the mood is set from the second your eyes adjust to the dim mood lighting in the cozy, but beautifully designed lobby. The check-in for my stay was efficient. But I could see how check-in and check-out could be a bit crowded at times, given there are only three stations at the front desk counter.<\/p>\n

The room was aesthetically an extension of the design in the common areas, keeping the experience cohesive.<\/p>\n
Proper suites, by definition, have a living space separate from the sleeping quarters, and this was exactly that, with a larger sitting area and a comfy but by no means small bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.<\/p>\n
Crucial to me is a workspace, namely a desk, which is generally absent in trendy, new hotels. Both passed my test with flying colors. No noise from Collins Avenue filtered in, other than the sporadic siren from the police escorts for VIP passengers headed to the race track. And while not fully pitch black, the curtains blocked out enough light to keep us from waking up at dawn.<\/p>\n
The only thing missing from the room was a true luggage rack. Aguasal, where breakfast is served, is a Miami take on Mediterranean fare. This is where I enjoyed most of my meals during my stay.\u00a0Free daily breakfast<\/a> is one of the best Hyatt Globalist perks, and the offerings at the Andaz Miami are generous, delicious, and very accommodating of dietary restrictions.<\/p>\nCredit: Ben Nickel-D'Andrea<\/em><\/enter><\/figure>\nBar Centro transitions from pastries and coffee in the morning to a trendy cocktail bar in the evening. It's the kind of hotel bar experience I wish we could have back home in Seattle.<\/p>\n
The third restaurant is Bazaar Meat by Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s. Unfortunately, I didn\u2019t get to try it, as it was just about to soft-open a few days after my stay. However, I did sneak a peek at the menu, and it looks like I could get some serious meat sweats.<\/p>\n
Andaz Miami Beach Amenities<\/span><\/h2>\nThere are two pools at the Andaz Miami Beach, both surrounded by plenty of seating and just a few steps away from the outdoor bar. You can get poolside service while enjoying the sun (or the shade, courtesy of a colorful umbrella) from the comfort of your chair.<\/p>\n
The same service is offered on the beach. The fitness center is packed with great equipment, including bikes through an ongoing partnership with Peloton<\/a>, rowing machines, free weights, and your usual cardio equipment. But that\u2019s just the beginning.
