While Chase points have plenty of excellent uses, one of the most valuable is <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/chase-to-hyatt-transfer\/\" rel=\"noopener\">transferring Chase points to Hyatt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While this partnership isn't going anywhere anytime soon, it's about to lose a little bit of its luster. Chase just announced that select cardholders will soon no longer be able to take advantage of a 1:1 transfer ratio.<\/p>\n<p>Here's when this devaluation takes effect, which cards are impacted, and how to preserve 1:1 transfers once it does.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Which_Chase_Cards_Are_Affected\">Which Chase Cards Are Affected?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This negative change will affect two Chase cards that are currently open to new cardholders: the <a data-ccid=\"2061159\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/chase-sapphire-preferred\/\">Chase Sapphire Preferred<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/a> (<a data-ccid=\"2061159\" href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/click?id=g3lR0xvjyAU&offerid=1753725.10005147&type=3&subid=09d96996b8be1c3e7dce3d753161da41d&subid=639396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rates & Fees<\/a>) and <a data-ccid=\"3006145\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/ink-business-preferred\/\">Ink Business Preferred<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Credit Card<\/a> (<a data-ccid=\"3006145\" href=\"https:\/\/click.linksynergy.com\/fs-bin\/click?id=g3lR0xvjyAU&offerid=1753725.10005142&type=3&u1=ae3dea0e6f6313b8d29faf25586d4ab6&subid=639396\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rates & Fees<\/a>). However, the timelines differ slightly.<\/p>\n<p>Here's the high-level timeline for when each card's transfer ratio will drop from 1:1 to 4:3.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chase Sapphire Preferred<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Card<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>New cardmembers approved on or after June 15, 2026, will receive the new 4:3 transfer ratio immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Existing cardmembers and those approved before June 15, 2026, will receive the new 4:3 transfer ratio starting October 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ink Business Preferred<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Credit Card<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>New cardmembers approved on or after October 1, 2026, will receive the new 4:3 transfer ratio immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Existing cardmembers and those approved before October 1, 2026, will receive the new 4:3 transfer ratio starting October 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Just so you can see it on paper, a 4:3 transfer ratio means you'll receive 750 World of Hyatt points for every 1,000 Chase points you transfer. A 25% devaluation hurts. Your ability to transfer points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio isn't going anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>If you don't currently have a premium Chase card and the 1:1 Hyatt transfer ratio is something you don't want to lose, you might consider adding one of these cards to your wallet. That's especially relevant now that <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/how-to-get-chase-sapphire-reserve\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Chase has Chase is taking a bite out of the World of Hyatt transfer ratio on two popular rewards cards, dropping it from 1:1 to 4:3.<\/p>\n<p>To put it bluntly, this sucks. And more so, this devaluation is coming in the wake of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/world-of-hyatt\/new-award-charts\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyatt's recent award chart changes<\/a>. Now, cardholders are looking at a future where Hyatt stays cost more points and transferring Chase points to Hyatt requires more points, too. Nope, don't like that at all.<\/p>\n<p>If there's any silver lining, it's that impacted cardholders still have time to preserve access to 1:1 transfers. <a data-ccid=\"2061159\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/chase-sapphire-preferred\/\">Sapphire Preferred<\/a> applicants approved before June 15, 2026, and existing cardholders can continue transferring at a 1:1 ratio until October 1, 2026. Likewise, <a data-ccid=\"3006145\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/credit-cards\/chase-ultimate-rewards\/ink-business-preferred\/\">Ink Preferred<\/a> cardholders &#8212; and new applicants approved before October 1, 2026 &#8212; can continue making 1:1 transfers until that date.<\/p>\n<p>While we appreciate the advance notice, we're hoping this doesn't become the blueprint for future transfer partner devaluations. Is this an incentive to add a premium Chase card to your wallet? Sure.
