Qualifying restaurants and other food and beverage establishments will be indicated as eligible on their<\/em> booking page on Resy.com or the Resy app and are subject to change at any time.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\nNow, when you go to the dedicated Amex\/Resy webpage<\/a>, you'll see new language that mimics this update under the FAQ:<\/p>\n“Use your enrolled Basic or Additional Card to pay to dine at a qualifying U.S. Resy restaurant and other food and beverage establishments that are indicated as eligible for the Resy Credit on their booking pages on Resy.com or the Resy app at the time of purchase, or to make other eligible Resy purchases.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\nIndividual Resy restaurants now have a disclaimer on their pages \u2014 “Qualifies for Resy Credit<\/strong>” \u2014 indicating they are eligible.<\/p>\nScreenshot of Resy<\/em><\/enter><\/figure>\nHowever, at least for now, every Resy restaurant that we've looked at shows this disclaimer. Considering this new change doesn't go into effect until August 1, that isn't surprising. That means there's no way to tell how impactful this change will be.<\/p>\n
In August, things might look the same as they do today, or there might be hundreds of restaurants that suddenly no longer qualify for the credit. Or maybe Resy plans to introduce new types of establishments on the platform, and this disclaimer is nothing more than a way to differentiate restaurants from other businesses that will use Resy.<\/p>\n
As of now, this is all speculation, so we will have to wait until August 1 to see the damage.<\/p>\n
Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\nUnfortunately, there's no way to know if this will actually be a meaningful change. At the very least, you'll now need to double-check that the restaurant you wish to dine at displays the eligibility banner before you go out to eat.
