Well, isn't this interesting? Just a couple of hours after American Airlines and Hyatt announced the end of their partnership<\/a>, Hyatt has debuted an “exclusive loyalty relationship” with none other than Delta Air Lines.<\/p>\n

Let's take a look at this brand-new partnership that could prove to be very lucrative for World of Hyatt<\/a> and Delta SkyMiles<\/a> members.<\/p>\n

World of Hyatt and Delta SkyMiles Announce New Partnership<\/span><\/h2>\n

On September 9, Hyatt announced a brand-new exclusive loyalty relationship<\/a> with Delta SkyMiles. This announcement comes mere hours after it announced it wouldn't renew its partnership with American Airlines when the contract ends in November. We certainly don't think the timing is a coincidence.<\/p>\n

Here's what Hyatt has to say about the partnership:<\/p>\n

“…a new, long-term strategic loyalty collaboration that will bring together two leading premium travel brands with a shared vision to shape the future of loyalty by creating a connected, personalized and rewarding experience for World of Hyatt and Delta SkyMiles members.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We don't have a start date for this new collaboration, but when it launches, elite members of either program will be able to earn both<\/em> World of Hyatt points and Delta SkyMiles on travel. That's right: a dual-earn benefit is coming soon.<\/p>\n

The last date to link your American Airlines and Hyatt accounts is on November 15, 2026, so it wouldn't be surprising if the Delta\/Hyatt partnership launches mid-November.<\/p>\n

In addition, members can take advantage of “exclusive benefits, extraordinary experiences, and more.”\u00a0Unfortunately, that's about all the details we have. Delta's press release<\/a> didn't provide any extra information, but both Delta and Hyatt confirmed plans to unveil more details later this year.<\/p>\n

We didn't have to wait long to learn of Hyatt's plans to fill the gaps left behind once the American Airlines partnership ends. This announcement also raises the question of whether American Airlines has a new, exciting partnership with a Hyatt competitor that will be announced soon.<\/p>\n

The press release used a lot of flowery language about how thrilling this partnership will be, but it didn't provide many details.
