A little over a year after its launch, the Sapphire Reserve for Business\u2120<\/a> (Rates & Fees<\/a>) is already getting an update.<\/p>\n

Chase announced today, September 17, 2026<\/strong>, that cardholders will get a higher annual credit for The Edit by Chase Travel bookings. However, the news isn't all positive. Cardholders will soon face a spending cap in select earning categories.<\/p>\n

Here's what to know about these changes and when they take effect.<\/p>\n

Sapphire Reserve Business Targeted Update<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Sapphire Reserve Business is changing, but only slightly.<\/p>\n

Increased The Edit credit<\/span><\/h3>\n

First, the good news. Starting January 1, 2027<\/strong>, the annual statement credit for The Edit by Chase Travel<\/a> doubles from $500 to $1,000. It will continue to be distributed in $250 increments, so cardholders can now enjoy four statement credits each year. This credit alone now has the potential to offset the card's $795 annual fee.<\/p>\n

New limits on spending categories<\/span><\/h3>\n

Now, the bad news. Cardholders currently earn unlimited 3X Chase Ultimate Rewards points<\/a> on social media and search engine advertising. Starting November 15, 2026<\/strong>, you will earn 3X points on the first $1 million spent each account anniversary year. After that, you'll earn just 1X points.<\/p>\n

Chase is defining an account anniversary year as the period between November 15, 2026, and your next monthly statement with an annual fee, and then every 12-month period thereafter. So, any money spent on social media and search engine advertising until November 15, 2026, doesn't count toward this threshold.<\/p>\n

And that's all. You'll continue to enjoy your other credits, including the $400 ZipRecruiter credit, $200 Google Workspace credit, \u00a0$100 Giftcards.com credit<\/a>, along with a variety of other benefits. There's no change in annual fees or new spending caps on any other purchases.<\/p>\n

Bottom Line<\/span><\/h2>\n

These are relatively minor updates, but they're worth noting. Odds are, most businesses don't spend more than $1 million on social media advertising each year, but if yours does, you'll need to choose a different card once you cross that threshold.<\/p>\n

The extra credits toward The Edit bookings are great, but keep in mind that you'll need to complete four hotel stays each year instead of two. The Sapphire Reserve Business<\/a> remains one of the best Chase business cards<\/a> on the market, and it's always good news when you get more value from a card with no change in annual fees.<\/p>\n
