Just make sure to double-check American Airlines AAdvantage pricing to make sure it isn't cheaper to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/citi-thankyou-rewards\/transfer-citi-points-american-airlines\/\" rel=\"noopener\">transfer Citi points to AAdvantage<\/a> instead.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Qantas business class between the U.S. and Australia:<\/strong> Award availability is limited, but one-way Qantas business class awards start at 113,900 points plus taxes and fees. The onboard product and service are excellent when you can find space.<\/li>\n<li><strong>El Al premium-cabin awards:<\/strong> Qantas is one of the few programs that lets you book El Al with points. Business-class awards between Tel Aviv and the U.S. East Coast start at 90,000 Qantas points each way. You can book up to 35,000 miles of travel across Oneworld airlines with up to 16 flight segments and five stopovers. It takes time to plan, but it can be an incredible way to see multiple continents on a single ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a quick summary of the rules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can fly on any Oneworld airline (e.g., Qantas, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Up to 16 flight segments and 5 stopovers (over 24 hours each)<\/li>\n<li>Total distance must be under 35,000 miles<\/li>\n<li>Open jaws are allowed, but the surface distance counts toward the 35,000-mile limit<\/li>\n<li>At least two Oneworld airlines must be included (besides Qantas)<\/li>\n<li>Non-Oneworld partners (like Emirates) aren\u2019t eligible<\/li>\n<li>Changes cost 5,000 Qantas points per adjustment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/news\/airlines\/qantas-frequent-flyer-program-changes\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Qantas' August 5, 2025 devaluation<\/a>, Oneworld Classic Flight Reward award pricing is now:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economy Class: 152,200 points<\/li>\n<li>Premium Economy: 287,000 points<\/li>\n<li>Business Class: 365,800 points<\/li>\n<li>First Class: 523,200 points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After factoring in this new Citi transfer bonus, you'd need to transfer 127k Citi points for an economy round-the-world ticket or 305k Citi points for a ticket in business class.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll typically need to call Qantas to build and ticket a full RTW itinerary, though you can preview possible routings using the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rtw.oneworld.com\/rtw\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Oneworld round-the-world tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Qantas_Points_Expiration_Policy\">Qantas Points Expiration Policy<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/airlines\/do-qantas-points-expire\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Qantas Frequent Flyer points expire<\/a> after 18 months of inactivity. However, Qantas generally has fewer sweet spots than other Oneworld partners.<\/p>\n<p>That said, there are situations where transferring can make sense:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><strong>American Airlines'\u00a0<\/strong>short-haul domestic or transatlantic flights &#8212; when they are cheaper than through AAdvantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Qantas or El Al award space<\/strong> that isn\u2019t bookable through other programs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Round-the-world itinerary<\/strong> using the Oneworld Classic Flight Reward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As always, avoid transferring points speculatively. Qantas recently devalued its award charts, but that's no guarantee that it won't do so again. If you have a specific award in mind, this bonus can help stretch your Citi ThankYou points a bit further.
