Plus, the reasonable award prices make it an economical way to get to Ireland and beyond using Atmos Rewards points. Here's what to know about booking Aer Lingus award redemptions through Alaska Airlines.<\/p>\n

Atmos Rewards is a great program because it offers highly competitive award pricing and lets you book a stopover<\/a> to visit an additional destination without increasing the cost. Alaska Airlines is a member of the Oneworld alliance, but it also partners with many airlines outside the alliance \u2014 like Aer Lingus.<\/p>\n

Beware of connecting itineraries<\/h4>\n

However, connecting itineraries can sometimes bump you into the next distance band, especially if you're connecting within the U.S.<\/p>\n

For instance, a nonstop flight from Seattle (SEA) to Dublin (DUB) falls within the 3,501-5,000-mile band and costs 27,500 points in economy. But, a connecting itinerary with one Alaska-operated segment from Seattle to Chicago (ORD) and an Aer Lingus-operated segment from Chicago to Dublin costs 35,000 points:<\/p>\n

Stopover in Dublin<\/span><\/h3>\n

Thanks to Alaska's free stopover program, you could also stop in Dublin for up to 14 days. It will still be considered a single award booking, but you can spend time in Dublin before moving on to mainland Europe or the U.K. This is a great way to get more value from Atmos Rewards points and one of the main reasons to use Alaska Airlines instead of another program for one-way travel.<\/p>\n

As you can see, this Philadelphia (PHL) to Rome (FCO) flight with a four-day stopover in Dublin still comes out to 27,500 points, plus $39 in taxes and fees.<\/p>\n

Intra-European flights from 7,500 points<\/span><\/h3>\n

Short flights within Europe that are less than 1,500 miles will fall in the cheapest distance band, meaning it'll only cost you 7,500 Atmos Rewards points in economy.<\/p>\n

For example, Dublin to Catania (CTA) in Sicily comes in right under that 1,500-mile threshold. 7,500 points for a nearly four-hour flight is quite the deal.<\/p>\n
