Targeted cardholders can unlock the chance to earn 30% bonus points — up to 20,000 bonus points — after meeting the spending threshold. These are Companion Pass-qualifying points, so you can potentially put a sizable dent in your progress toward earning one of the best perks in award travel with this offer.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what to know and how to register.<\/p>\n

Earn 30% Bonus Points After Spending on Your Southwest Credit Card<\/span><\/h2>\n

The newest Southwest credit card spending offer gives targeted, enrolled cardholders the chance to earn 30% bonus points after spending<\/a> between July<\/strong> 1 and September 30, 2026<\/strong>. Once you hit the spend threshold, you\u2019ll earn bonus points on all eligible purchases \u2014 up to 20,000 bonus points.<\/p>\n

But there is a catch. Not only is the offer targeted — meaning not everyone will get the offer — but the spend threshold is also variable.<\/p>\n

While I didn't get the promotion this quarter, a family member did — requiring at least $3,000 in spending to get the 30% bonus points. However, reports indicate that the spend threshold can vary, with as high as $45,000 in spend required.<\/p>\n

It goes without saying that those with high thresholds would be less enthused about this offer, but if you are targeted at a more reasonable $3,000 worth of spending, this can be a nice way to earn even more Rapid Rewards.<\/p>\n

These bonus points count towards the Companion Pass<\/span><\/h3>\n

In addition, these bonus points will count toward<\/strong> earning the Southwest Companion Pass<\/a> but not toward A-List or A-List Preferred qualification. And it's worth noting that all purchases in the promotional period count as long as you register, even if you register on September 30.<\/p>\n
