It can vary how much you can earn based on several factors:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The amount you are spending at the property during your stay (excluding taxes and fees)<\/li>\n<li>Brand of the Hilton hotel<\/li>\n<li>Your status with Hilton<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Members earn 10 base points per dollar spent on room rates and eligible incidental charges at most Hilton properties. Note that qualifying stays are those booked directly through Hilton. You won't earn points on bookings made through an online travel agency like Expedia, Kayak, or a travel portal.<\/p>\n<p>When you book award stays or points and cash stays, you will generally earn points on eligible incidental charges or the cash portion of your booking. Determining all other incidental charges that count towards earning\u00a0Hilton Honors\u00a0points varies by brand and type of charge.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Get_Hilton_elite_status_with_credit_cards\">Get Hilton elite status with credit cards<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Through the end of 2025, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/hilton-honors\/hilton-gold-status\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Hilton Honors\u2122 Gold status<\/a> required 20 stays or 40 nights, and <a href=\"https:\/\/awardwallet.com\/hotels\/hilton-honors\/hilton-diamond-status\/\">Hilton Honors\u2122 Diamond<\/a> status required 30 stays or 60 nights. However, effective January 1, 2026, Hilton reduced the thresholds to earn elite status. Hilton Honors Gold now requires 25 nights or 15 stays, while Hilton Honors Diamond requires just 50 nights or 25 stays.<\/p>\n<p>But you don't have to stay that many nights to score Hilton elite status. However, this option can be helpful for certain redemptions where the point value at redemption is more than what you paid for the points.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Sharing_points_from_others\">Sharing points from others<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you have other travelers who collect Hilton points, you can band together to use them for redemptions.<\/p>\n<p>First, you can <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/hilton-honors\/transfer-hilton-points\/\" rel=\"noopener\">transfer Hilton points<\/a> to another Hilton Honors member. You are limited to six transfer transactions annually. Also, you can transfer a maximum of 500,000 points from your Hilton account and receive a maximum of 2,000,000 points per calendar year. So you should plan accordingly if needing to transfer Hilton points between others.<\/p>\n<p>You can also <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/hotels\/hilton-honors\/pool-hilton-points\/\" rel=\"noopener\">pool Hilton points<\/a> with other Hilton members.\u00a0A pool can include up to 11 members (including you) and can be used for redemptions by any person in the pool. Each member can perform six pooling transactions annually, and they are subject to the same point received\/sent limitations as point transfers are.
